If Vancouver is a bubble team, Buffalo likely will allow the pick to be lottery protected if they were to miss the playoffs.

If its a 2nd then it will likely be Shinakirk + 2nd
**** no. I already knew you guys were gonna ask for way too much. We don't want him at that price.

don't worry we have a few posters who's proposals are completely out too lunch. I personally believe that a 1st round pick would be enough to get a deal done, if more then one team offered a 1st round pick that would obviously drive up the price.

Many teams are cap strapped, but I have a feeling Buffalo's ownership would be willing to retain salary if need be to get a deal done. I feel as if Vancouver's 1st rounder should be in play this year, it's a weak draft and we need scoring help. I would rather move our 1st for a player signed past this season though, I think we'll have a better chance to compete next year rather than this year.

Value wise I'd move a 1st and something else for Moulson.. I'd let Buffalo pick amongst a number of B level prospects.

I'd move our 1st for Moulson in a snap. Maybe a conditional 2nd if he re-signs with us? He puts us over the top.

Would the something else be Booth? Buffalo has cap space and deep pockets, so it wouldn't surprise me if they are a transition point for teams looking to move salary for the freedom to make other moves. Moulson for Booth and (something[s] of value)?

Moulson is going to require a 1st round pick at minimum. I don't want Vancouver to give up a 1st for someone who is going to walk July 1st. We're in a transitional phase right now: good enough for the playoffs but not enough to contend. We need to continue adding young assets, not giving them away.

Would you do Jensen conditional 2nd 2014 (becomes a 1 st if the. Canucks make the finals) for Moulson 4th 2014?

I am just going by the Sabres depth in young centres and lack of scoring winger prospects. A player like Gaunce I see as a bit redundant with. Larson and Girgersons in your system

yes Gaunce was a first round pick and all but I have so many concerns with him game. He doesn't look like he is ever going to be a top 6 guy in the NHL as he doesn't have the offensive skill, and he is flat out slow, one of the slowest first round picks in quite awhile. I would probably only project him out to being a 4th line center who may be able to fill in as a 3rd line tweener. He has a good enough defensive game that he will earn his coaches trust and probably carves out a career as a PK guy as well.

No its not out of touch...

Moulson to a playoff team is worth about a 1st + 2nd/B prospect.

Other posters were saying they didnt want to give up a 1st.

Shinakurk was a mid 20s pick last year which equals the 1st.

What B prospect are you referring to?

Buffalo has one salary retention left and its saved for Miller.

That something of value would have to be a 1st---Buffalo will get better from other teams.

I would not give up a 1st + 2nd for Moulson. Shinkaruk is worth more to us than a 1st...

I don't think Vancouver has the assets to make many more moves; there's a chance they acquire a depth center but that's it. As such we'd rather keep Booth. We can take on close to 5mil at the deadline, so we don't need to give salary back in the deal. A 1st and your pick of prospects not named Jensen, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Corrado, or Horvat.

Meh. Rather see what else is out there is the price is a 1st. I think I'd rather just see what else is out there period.

Going by past trades of players equivalent to Moulson, i.e. Iginla, Morrow. Moulson will elicit a 1st and a B Prospect at least.

Not enough. Buffalo isn't dealing Moulson in private, it will be a public offering, given to highest bidder. Not what you're proposing...

Don't see him meshing with Kesler. Not too interested.

If Moulson can play RW he'd be with the Sedins. If we could get Sabres to take back Booth as well I'd be more then willing to give up our 1st as well as Jensen or a 2nd if Sabres prefer. I'd definately want to extend Moulson though. If we could at the deadline get another winger for Kesler then we could drop Kassian to 4th line. However not sure what we'd have left that we'd be willing to trade for such winger.

Sedin Sedin Moulson
Kassian Kesler Burrows
Higgins Santorelli Hansen
Sestito Richardson Weise

I've never seen Moulson play RW but I've only seen him in Buffalo. I'd think Buffalo would take Jensen over a second, if only because we're set on 2nd round picks for the next few years. I think Booth is definitely an option for the Sabres, given their cap situation in the next two years.
