Now that Carter has shown the ability to play the wing, he's exactly what Giroux is missing on that top line. Sub in Carter for Hartnell and that line is much better at 5 on 5. Don't regret the trade since it netted them Couturier and Voracek, but yeah.

Well DUH! Haha, Carter is a much better player than Hartnell.

Yeah, no doubt, but I was also speaking to the playing styles of both guys. Carter is a guy who will rip it from just about anywhere, and for good reason too. Whereas Hartnell is just a middle six banger who can occasionally get off a good shot from the slot. Giroux would be much better served with a pure shooter instead of a crash and bang guy.

I as just trying to get the point across if you shoot the puck a lot you are going to miss the net a lot. this team has no snipers at all. we dont have one player willing to shoot the puck from anywhere in the offensive zone.
Carter as a shooter. did he miss the net often? sure but he as also a threat to score 30 plus every season.

firing GMs wont do any good.
i thought that was the way of thinking around here.
only think that makes sense is firing coaches and trading players.

I thought the beer prices at the Leafs games couldnt go any higher. As of last year they were $13.50 for a large draught beer. They jacked it up to $16. Yes $16 for a large draught beer.

Edmonton Feed:

Guy 1: They look like Rocky in Rocky 3 when he finally cuts Drago

Guy 2: Drago was Rocky 4. Clubber Lang was in Rocky 3. I've seen those movies a few times, I'll try not to be incensed for the rest of the game.

Guy 1: Ha, yeah you're right, Drago was Rocky 5.

I usually try to get a nice load on before the game so I don't have to spend too much money on beers.

Sportsnet ticker: Toronto's James Reimer pulled in the first period after allowing 12 goals on 15 shots.

I had to go to NHL.com just to make sure that wasn't true.

Me too! But that just means spending ****loads of money on ****loads of beer seems like fantastic idea. So it has backfired every time so far and made the situation worse.

Another Sportsnet ticker error: Avalanche improve to 18-0-0 when scoring first. They were down 2-0 to the Jets in the first.

This is the network that has won the national broadcast rights in Canada...
