@ Nassau Coliseum. DiPietro stopped all 28 Rangers shots, including 14 in the third period, as the Islanders downed the Rangers 2-0 at home for their third victory over the Blueshirts this season. DiPietro victimized the Rangers on a night when Lundqvist himself was nearly flawless with 36 saves. His outstanding performance in net kept the game scoreless for its first 36:43 before Arron Asham broke through with what stood up as the game-winning goal.
I'll be there..and my section plans on starting a nice chant in the middle of the third if we are ahead...lol. Just listen to the broadcast..I hope enough people join in across the arena.

The rangers better come out flying.. with or without Jagr, i think it is very important Cullen and Prucha continue to play the way they have the last few games, keep it going and add that next level of scoring behind the big guns (sad, i used to refer to prucha as one of the big guns)
would also love to see hall come out with a lot of physical play and passion, perhaps even drop the gloves or at least create havok in front of DP.
Should be a good game, Rangers on a 4 game winning streak, Isles on a 6 game losing streak. Jagr not producing, Yashin not producing, whos going to come out of their slump tonight? I'm hoping its going to be Jag's!!! The key in my mind tonight is to play the Isles tough and physical much like they did for the Caps game a few days back. The Isles are most likley going to play physical like they have been against the Rangers, and especially against the first line. Thats where the Prucha-Cullen-Shanny line needs to step up and start putting some more pucks behind DP. The bottom two lines need to have that strong forecheck that they have shown over this winning streak. All in all i'm going to think that the Rangers are going to win this game. LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HBNYC, nice GDT as usual
That is why we need to call up Isbister for tonights game. We need toughness that can skate.
Wow, i knew the Isles were losing but i didnt know it was a 6 gamer.
Talk about streaks in this league.
Its crazy how every game is so big. Teams are so close in the standings, i just took a look at the full standings - talk about an even playing field. I dont know if its a direct effect of the salary cap or not but the disparity in the league this year is incredible.
Only 5 teams in the NHL are under .500 - with one team, phoenix one game under.
Only two teams in the east are under .500 - Flyers and Panthers.
Only 7 points separate the Islanders in the 13th spot from the Rangers in the 5th.
What a field this year. Its really gonna come down to who gets hot at the right time.
The Rangers have to really start taking home ice to heart, because in that big stretch when the playoff positions are solidified, they have the 13 out of 17 at home that i always talk about.

I've always been partial to the "1983 - Last Cup You'll Ever See" chant

I checked it up sometimes mid last season, 0.500 were something like 1.1 pts per game, or 44 pts in 40 games for example. With every 5th game beeing a tie at that time to get half the pts, or .500 its something like 1.1 pts perg game.

Yeah the overtime/shootout format is probably the biggest reason for the points being so close.
