He'd be better than Kent Simpson.

Why Chicago aqcuire goalie LaBarbera? Corey Crawford is very good number one goalie, and Antti Raanta has clearly shown NHL-caliber skillful potential. So Crawford first and Raanta second and LaBarbera third in AHL-league?

If the Hawks paid any more than 5 dollars, I'll feel bad for their fans.

I still believe the Hawks should have signed Theodore this summer instead of Khabibulin...
The Blackhawks should have signed anyone instead of Khabibulin.

Just an all-around great move by Edmonton. If anything, my Blackhawks OVERPAID for Lolbarbera.

Crawford out til after xmas,Khabi out til whenever(hopefully forever). Both AHL goalies now on Hawks leaving them with no one in RFD except 1st yr pro Carruth. He's AHL fodder nothing more.Only way he gets a sniff of the Hawks is more injuries. No big deal here.

He will be playing in the AHL, probably where he should have been all along

Edit: might dress as a backup till Crawford returns

Right I think he plays as the backup in the AHL, but Crawford is down for another 5-6 games and LaBarbera could get 2-3 games as backup for the Blackhawks if Crawford comes back in January.

That doesn't seem so bad, I honestly hoped the Oilers would have signed Theodore instead of LaBarbera and still not sure why no one signed him.

Well when he said "best move MacT has made all year", I would've thought that the Perron trade would be the clear winner, so I wasn't sure if he was just being sarcastic or not.

That was a very peculiar move (and price tag) from an otherwise savvy GM. Didn't understand it then, still questioning it now.

I'm not sure if you could really call Stan Bowman savvy. This is a buffoon who inherited Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Jonathon Toews, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, David Bolland, Kris Versteeg, Andrew Ladd, etc... Stan Bowman could be a functioning autistic adult and still win Cups with his roster. You don't understand the Khabibulin move? It was a panic move from a greenhorn GM who is in way over his head, struggling to follow in his legendary father's footsteps, stumbling his way into multiple undeserved Cup victories.

Could very well post career highs playing with Chicago, solid depth move.

Well, I was expecting Stan to go shopping for a goalie for a short term solution to the injury problem.

I'd certainly keep Raanta playing but LaBarbera is a lot better than Simpson.

At some point Raanta will need a rest and playing Simpson is not an option - he's AHL material with no NHL experience...

I was holding my breath for Craig Anderson...

A Crawford/Anderson tandem would have been nice... Tim Thomas or Ray Emery would have worked well with Crawford to boot.

The Hawks just need a guy with some NHL experience. Raanta has been great but he has no NHL experience and has pretty much been thrown into the fire, but has fared well..

Do you know who he drafted?

He already has 2 of his 2011 picks playing key roles on the Hawks - a 5th rounder and a 2nd rounder..

Bowman has been great.... He's not gong to make any big moves because he doesn't have to... He has everything he needs to win cups. All Bowman needs to do is draft and fill roles...

The Hawks are super deep - we have kids playing in the AHL that could easily crack an NHL lineup on most teams but are stuck in the AHL because there isn't a spot for them.

The Hawks will be good for a very long time and contenders for at least 5+ more years.

They're in a very good position - especially with the cap going up.

The position the Hawks are in couldn't have been planned any better - even if Bowman had a crystal ball and could see the future.
