It's just the flu...It was my understanding that they got it a few days ago. They still have a day to recoup their strength, so lets hope they are okay come tomorrow.

Looks to me like almost all of our players are going to come back on a similar timescale. Obviously Souray will be out a little longer, but the concept remains. I am just excited to see what the team will be like when we are 100% healthy (so to speak).

Sbisa is just in a very bad sitation right now. He is a great character (really) and a decent individual hockey player, but i just can`t see him having a chemistry in any pair right now. However, with these injuries, it could be stupid thing to do to trade him away. If everyone`s healthy, he`s our #7 at best, just because of chemistry

PS
Happy to see Beauch and Perreault return already in next game. We should win - last few years the Ducks have always won on 14th (time zones) or 15th December - my birthday. IIRC it is happening already from 09 (when i started to follow the Ducks again). One year it was 16th maybe.

Ots not just the flu. If they have legit flu with leaky poop, vomiting, muscle fatigue, weakness, dizziness... its easy to be out of bed after 24 hours of misery, but its effects would linger negativelly.

Is Beauchemin back tonight? I've got him in my fantasy team and heard he was due back tonight.

BB wouldn't commit to answer but did say Jakob Silfverberg (broken hand) is an option tonight against Detroit.

Any news if Vatanen was scratched due to flu / injury or just to give Fistric some playing time?

I think Vatanen is fine.

Hazy talked about BB's comments during the game and it felt like BB just wanted to keep everyone in game shape, rather then having all the extras being rusty when they are needed, were no mentions of injuries at all.

Alright, good to know. Wonder why they chose Vatanen though, maybe maintenance day or just because his first on the pecking order.

He should be. His surgery was 5 and a half months ago. I can't imagine he's too far away.

Fasth had surgery to fix his abdominal wall on december 23rd. Article says he had a hole in it. He will miss the Olympics and it will be at least six weeks before he can go full practice.

I wonder if that was the source of his injuries or if it's a result. ie will this survey have any impact on his ability to stay healthy?

My guess is that was the source of his problems. And they kept trying to let it heal until finally it wasn't going to heal well enough without surgery.

This should at least put to rest any Hiller trade rumors for the rest of the year.

Eric Stephens has tweeted a few times to people asking that he's targeting the Olympic break for his return. He hasn't elaborated if that means he'll be back BY the break or AFTER. One way or the other it appears he's still a month away which is crazy. That puts his rehab time at 7 months. That's worse than surgery or a torn ACL.

He did have surgery. And he tore ligaments in his wrist which is why it was so serious.

Good question. I think it was his right hand. He showed it to me.
