We play them again? Poop.

Have to do well here or at least win it to not be completely embarrassed against them this season.

I hope they get their **** together.
Giroux better not try the hand-pass like faceoff move ever again and the other boneheads please stay out of the box. If that works, I like their chances...

Like others said, what's the alternative here? What quality players do we have benched right now and who on this team hasn't **** the bed at one point or another?

Basically this. Crapping the bed late game is different from sucking the whole game. Crapping the bed meant the mindset and possibly laziness were the reasons for the loss. Suck up, man up, go out there and do everything you can do to not do that again.

I'd like to see Hartnell out and akesson in. Although he does look better on the other line.

i would lay odds Hartnell NEVER gets benched..

hes the Capn's buddy..

but i do agree Hartnell deserves some presser time, his stupid play is hurting the team far more then he is helping..

Swedish origin which often means two Ss but there's only one in Akeson.

If our best option is to bench Hartnell in favor of Akeson, our best option is to keep Hartnell in the lineup...

Probably not. Hartnell does more bad then good. He's been embarrassingly horrible this season.

Akeson would be an instant liability on the ice defensively. Yes, Hartnell's lateral movement on skates is dreadful, but actually he isn't a terrible skater. He can move when he needs to(in a straight line) Akeson is one player who gets too much love around he like tweener AHL/NHL players usually do. He will be in Europe soon probably, he just isn't that good. Not a great skater, not physical, defense?? What's that? He has good vision and offense instinct, but if you can't keep up with NHL players, it is of no use.

I think Hartnell just gets a little too much of the slack for this team not performing. He hasn't been great, but he hasn't been anywhere near how some people are painting him. He is the new whipping boy, we always need one. We should just own up to the fact the team is bad, no need for a whipping boy, they all suck

Except Giroux, also Couts when he is protecting the puck and using his vision. Defensively he is always great, but has been average as of the last few games.

If our top replacement or even call-up to fill a top six role is Akeson that's the problem. Not just Hartnell.

So, as far as that goes, who cares? Hartnell is disappointing and plays a very restricted game and Akeson isn't a quality prospect who likely will never have an NHL impact. Either way, it's just whatever. Couldn't be mad or blame either move.

What does Hartnell offer defensively? He can't skate, can't use his stick responsibly and ends every other shift in the box.

The only difference between him and Akeson is that the latter may offer something at the other end.
