That Bortuzzo hit didn't really look like a headshot to me. Looks like from the gif posted that he hit the chest on first contact.

Every hard hit these days gets penalized it seems with everyone then calling for suspensions even if the hits are legal.

Agree but "legal hits" can wreck a guy these days. So it's a weird debate emerging, based in part on restraint and the "vulnerable position" distinction.

What also concerns me is the suggestion that a guy who delivers a big legal hit should be obliged to "answer the bell" and have a fight afterward. This new "code" impacts our man Yemelin.

Sorry a lot of "scare quotes"

Again he isn't obliged to do anything but one must be prepared for push back.

Maybe one of the 2 teams should trade for Bryzgalov to make the show more interesting

There's been one episode. It was pretty much an introduction. Let's see how it pans out.

The worst part is, Toronto has McClement on the ice, he is supposed to be their best defensive center!

Watched some of the Sens game last night, they have themselves a nice player in Cody Ceci. Even without scoring the GW, he is a big kid, who can play. Seems light years ahead of Beaulieu and Tinordi sadly.

That Voynov/Lupul fight is what I like to see in hockey.

Didnt know Phaneuf was such a pompous citizen, always pictured him as a rugged maritime boy like Ryan White.

Miss Alfredsson claim she liked moving and it was a good move 'at the end of the day' but you can tell its not true lol

I have to say, I never believed in Ceci. Will have to wait how he progresses. Always thought of him as a good all-around d-man with no particular great trait. Again...it's often way more about what their ceiling is than the actual play of a prospect.

He did have seem to bulk up though....quite a lot.

I always felt like he was close to a blue chip prospect. Would've traded Beaulieu for him in his draft year. Also, he's been 6'3''/200+ lbs since his draft.

I still don't think Ceci fairs that well. Really disliked him with the 67s.

All the hockey insider guys on TSN (Lebrun, Mckenzie, Dreger) have re-upped their deals to stay with TSN long term. I guess Sportsnet won't be luring any of these guys away.

So is Scrivens, sticking with sensational out of town backup goalies. I'm not sure that he even played organized hockey at any AAA level or anything of the like before going the NCAA route and blooming.

It's heartbreaking more like, I wish him the best. I wouldn't be able to dedicate myself to anything if I was diagnosed with MS.
