Shia Labeouf plagiarizes a Dan Clowes comic and then plagiarizes yahoo answers

I found this story hilarious. Apparently Shia shot a short film and posted it on his website. I haven't seen the film because it was taken down, but it from what others are saying it is a straight ripoff of Dan Clowes graphic novel called Justin M. Damiano. He gives no credit whatsoever to Dan Clowes.

This is where it gets good. On twitter he apologizes and uses this line "Copying isn't particularly creative work. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work."

Which is copied from yahoo answers. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...6121955AA5dgbh

It's the 2nd response under other answers by a poster named Lili.

What a doofus.

The appropriate response here should be "Who the **** is Shia Labeouf?".

This ******* was the Jar Jar Binks of the Indiana Jones series, and everything I've heard is he's a massive **** in real life.

Y'know, I never watched a Paul Walker film in my life, and if I did, I didn't really remember him, but from everything I read he seemed like a nice enough fellow. I'm going to stop right there. You can figure out where I'm going with this.

I'm just curious as a fan how many of you guys have read a Dan Clowes comic.

I've read parts of both Ghost World and Art School Confidential. I had seen the movies, but knew little about Clowes until I came across Dan Raeburn's essay on him.

Apparently Shia can't even apologize without plagiarizing. BuzzFeed did a little digging and noticed that Shia's first tweet addressing the issue heavily steals from a user ("Lili") on a Yahoo! Answers post about plagiarism

Lili answered 4 year ago

Merely copying isn't particularly creative work, though it's useful as training and practice. Being inspired by someone else's idea to produce something new and different IS creative work, and it may even revolutionalize the "stolen" concept

Thank you very much. I recommend Saga and Chew. Glad you knew I wasn't being sarcastic.

Seems to be more of a homeless man's Micheal Sera than a Franco... always trys to play the innocent/naive youngish character... but without the charm Sera brings and LaGoof just comes off as annoying.

A lot of people are though, some that were real idiots with drugs and what not but were awesome actors, but we all love them now because some are dead or others have reformed. He's still in his 20's, where I guess he needs to learn, he gets beat up in bars/clubs, etc. He seems to enjoy being beat up, something is definitely wrong with him personally, but acting talent wise, don't pretend he sucks. He definitely doesn't.

I think Labeouf has been good in a couple of things--Disturbia and The Company You Keep come to mind--but if you think he is a better actor than Franco all that means is you probably haven't seen Spring Breakers.

My favorite Shia LaBeouf moment was when he got beat up outside a bar in Vancouver by a shirtless dude who looked just like Randy from Trailer Park Boys

My first thought was that copying the comment about copying in his apology was an attempt at being cheeky, but no, he really is a dummy. Presenting this movie at Cannes, thinking no one would figure out where the story came from, is evidence enough that he's stupid. Not to mention a cheat.

Comparing LaBeouf to Franco is a joke.
