Only the oilers hire a ex coach with no manager experience and a coach with zero nhl coaching experience in year 4 ( actually 5 ) in rebuild. And they offered it to messier who's never coached. Top notch management. 28th = progress

It would be amazing if we could get Krueger back as an associate coach. Keith Acton can suck a bag of dicks.

Krueger was the unfortunate benefactor of the Peter Principle. He should be second in command, and could really help our defensive structures and PP.

Why does bryz even want to stay after this. He should demand a trade at the deadline.

BREAKING NEWS: The Edmonton Oilers have already requested permission from Toronto to talk to Ron Wilson about their vacant head coaching job.

You're right. And apparently we take it a lot more seriously than the oilers organization.

Actually the amount of posters who post here has dwindled significantly especially this year so no most Oiler fans are finding better things to do even if there are some who proclaim them to be not "true" Oiler fans. The ones I find who are posting the most are the usual apologists who "bless their hearts" truly believe this team is better this year.

Why the **** is anyone talking about Yakupov? As bad as he is the ROOKIE is far down on the list of problems with this joke of a team.

I have been hoping to see this line all season. What a let down. Didn't see the first two periods, but that line was terrible in the third. That's the first time I've ever seen Gagner look like he isn't trying. Really disappointing game from that line generally and Gagner in particular.

Belov needs shooting practice. If he could hit the net or even get it close to the net we'd probably have a half dozen more goals out of it.

Shameful powerplay. Put that much talent on the ice and they can't even control the puck six on four. What more evidence is needed to at least change the PP coach?

Kings forecheck was amazing. Several times they had two guys in deep below the circles and they just kept taking the puck off the terrible Oiler d-men. We couldn't even move it out of our zone for long stretches of the third. Guys like Lewis owning the first line for ninety seconds.

Anybody see Muzzin flatten Hall and then Eberle track Muzzin back into the zone and just chop him down mercilessly from behind? That was hilarious. Highlight of the game for me.

Thanks Bryzgalov. Sorry you had to wind up part of this **** show, but we are happy to have you.

Krueger made bad personnel choices and had a ****** system.

So basically Eakins is Krueger except he's not as nice a guy.

Also, the Oilers PP was no better at generating shots/chances last season. They got lucky and scored on a high percentage of their shots. Averages are kicking in this year.

Both Eakins and Krueger were bad fits here. Decent guys, decent coaches, but you can't throw a rookie coach into this situation, it's insane.

We should go back to the

Perron RNH Eberle
Hall Gagner Yakupov

Line combos, Perron doesn't play well with Gagner or Yakupov.

Bryzgalov was good. Too bad the rest of the team stunk.

On the first goal he should have been down low helping the D. On the second goal he can't get the puck deep for a line change, very next play he is out there taking the most important face off of the game . I DON'T GET IT ! Gagner that is.

It's a bit of a shock for a 1st overall to struggle this much for us right now when we need him to succeed the most. Especially considering the first season of our other 1st overalls.

It's true though. He's FAR from our worst problem.

Say what you want about the roster, but Eakins doesn't bring anything to the table thus far. If I sit back and think about all the things a coach does, the only positive I've got for him is that he pulls the goalie nice and early rather than waiting. Outside of that... Eakins is just plain a bad coach. He ices the wrong players in the wrong position at the wrong time, time after time. The special teams has taken a nose dive this year and it's painful to watch, because you can see after 1 minute of watching it that the system in play is deeply flawed. Nobody moves on the PP. Only the foreigners have any accountability to worry about. Everybody's cheating on defense in the name of offense that never comes.

Gimme Laviolette or even Mac T over either Krueger or Eakins. This ain't a job for rookies.

We've tried experienced NHL Coaches with Pat Quinn and Tom Renney and we sucked

We've tried rookie NHL coaches with Eakins and Krueger and we sucked (Krueger sucked less than the others to be fair to him)

The Oilers are going to suck forever, we are the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Atlanta Thrashers, the Toronto Raptors, all rolled up into one huge big ball of awful. Sure, there will always be some bright spots mixed in, but there is no hope for this team, no light at the end of the tunnel, and no coach is going to be able to magically turn this broken team into anything more than mediocre.

It is easier to blame the kid rather than our beloved 6 million players who frankly in my eyes have played like crap for most of the year. They have regressed this year and my eyes are pointed in the direction of a rookie g.m. hiring a rookie unproven coach overlooked by an arrogant six ring president owned by a man driven more by profit than winning. Although if this crap continues I would not be surprised to see one of those players eventually ask for a trade, I would bet Hall.

Demand? He'll definitely be traded for a 3rd to a team that needs goal tending help, you can book that, maybe even a 2nd if he keeps playing so well.
