Now I can make fun of Leafs fans too at work tomorrow for losing to Panthers. They made fun of me last monday. They were like, "How could you lose to them? They're terrible!"

Not to downplay it at all but there are different forms of MS, I'm guessing he has a less severe one though don't know it as fact. Still an amazing story.

A friend of mine has stage 1 and doesn't know when it's going to go into stage 2. I was under the impression that it's basically a linear progression.

In totally unrelated news, Kings' third string goalie Martin Jones is now 6 for 6 at .972 sv%, 0.82 GAA and 3 shutouts tied for first.
Blanked the Oilers tonight with 24 saves

Dan Rosen ‏@drosennhl 12m I know the West has been far superior to the East this season, but East's top 4 of PIT, BOS, MTL and TBL are combined 24-14-5 vs. the West.

Dan Rosen ‏@drosennhl 11m However, the other 12 teams in the East are a combined 54-83-22 vs. the West.

Florida is actually 6-4-0 their last 10 with 4 straight wins, I thought they looked pretty good on Sunday. It didn't help that they had Satuday off and the Habs got back at 2:30am.

Wonder what they'll be doing instead of intermissions when TSN only has regional games? WJHC I guess? WC?

When the teams behing catch up in games played they may actually already be out of the playoffs. Carolina is 2 back with 2 in hand. Phillie is 3 back with 2 in hand plus NYR is 4 back with 2 in hand.

The fans might need to start throwing eggos again.

MS affects everyone differently. It's not a disease you can really predict at all.

Most Leaf fans I know, just don't know when to be quiet, and you would think they would learn, but they don't...it's entertaining...

Goalies, can't predict em. How did Lundqvist last until the 7th round?

Anyway Jones still has a long way to go to prove himself. Brian Boucher once posted 5 consecutive shutouts...

Well, while I hope all the best for Jones, I believe he's just in the zone at the moment and will come crashing down on earth soon enough.

good for the Kings, tho.

Man, I had this argument with the Leafs fans for so damn long: Rheimer hasn't proven anything unless he shows he can keep up his good play for an entire season. It doesn't matter if he hasn't been able to do it because of X Y or Z injury; a "proven" goalie is someone who has been able to run THE ENTIRE FREAKING MARATHON.

Many goalies have spark of genius. True NHL goalies are a real bonfire.

That's probably the best perspective anyone could share on that right now. Great for him, but I'll leave the extrapolation of his stats over his next 100 games up to the fools.

MS is becoming controllable more often than in the past, as we've learned a lot about slowing the neurological degeneration. Down the road, Harding might have issues with his arms or legs, but people sometimes go years before permanent disability kicks in. My Dad has had MS since he was 20. He worked a full career while walking with a cane, retired in his 60s and is now in a wheelchair, but comfortable and otherwise healthy at 87. MS isn't a death-sentence.

We are witnessing more violent hits than ever. It is escalating at an alarming rate. That hit by Tom Wilson last night could have have literally killed Brayden Schenn. Will we witness someone dying or become paralyzed eventually?
I hear that Wilson is having a phone hearing which means usually less than 5 games. He deserves 20 games minimum.

Good story about your dad. Modern medicine has evolved significantly over the years

Bringing hard numbers to Canada’s goalie debate

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/b...goalie-debate/

Quote:
Who will start in goal for Canada in Sochi?

Three months ago, this seemed to be a question of concern among Canadian hockey fans. Not anymore. Familiar names have rebounded with strong performances and goaltenders like James Reimer and Braden Holtby have maintained elite numbers to offer up depth that was not forseen in October.
Since when is Reimer's and Holtby's current numbers considered elite? Is this the kind of sub par coverage we can expect from Sportsnet for the next 12 years?

It's safe to say Scrivens will be dealt at the deadline if Jones continues playing like this. Teams are always looking for a goalie at the deadline.
