I dont want Condit Diaz. I heard enough about the first one to last an eternity.

I dont blame Diaz for turning it down for the same reason he hated the first fight. But he has to realize they are not going to hand him the belt.

I doubt he'd fight the same after the critics last time. Condit's chin is on par, and he hits harder. He has more in his game. He can throw kicks, knees, and elbows. Diaz has generally stuck to straight up boxing with some side kicks. I'd be for the rematch, though the result would not change.

In the post-fight scrum, Dana said he won't give Woodley a fight against Condit. "He's not ranked." Condit is getting a contender, if he beats him, he gets the shot. It won't be Ellenberger because he's injured.

UFC 168 is the only one that's gonna be $5 more. It will go back to normal at 169.

So whose left? Everyone in the top 10 is booked, injured, retired, etc. If they're not going outside their rankings, they would have to pull someone from their fight. In that case Shields would make the most sense since his last two fights have been wins over Maia and Woodley. But does anyone want to see Shields fight Condit or get back in the title picture? I'm not sure the UFC would even want to see that.

Yeah, I have no idea. He keeps saying we'll figure it out but literally there's no one for him to fight. Maybe they'll pull Rory to fight Condit and have Maia fight Woodley. Shields and Maia are gonna fight two giants. And probably still win lol.

Both are riding 2-1 streaks.

Lombard KO'd Marquardt and Palhares. Lost a SD to Okami.
Woodley KO'd Hieron and Koscheck. Lost a SD to Shields.
Woodley isn't far off of a knockout loss to Nate Marquardt and lost on the feet to Jake Shields.

Lombard on the other hadn has only lost via SD, and looks like a monster at this weight. To say Woodley is deserving but Lombard is not is bizare.

GSP will not return at MW. He has said that he could make LW, and that LW would be better for his body than MW. If he comes back, it will beat WW.
Ellenburger just pulled out of a fight & is in dana's dog house for his fight with Rory, alves is as stale as they come.

martin, while I'm a fan, has had ample opportunity only to come up short. Woodley is a better option. Than all of them.

I'd rather see hector vs cc or a DHK rematch, i have no issue with either. Too many people throw things out like they are smarter than Joe Silva, they have a plan and there track record says they know what they are doing.

Right after Dana said he won't make that fight because Woodley is not ranked.

Bigfoot failed the drug test after the Hunt fight.

Quote:
Despite gaining approval for the use of testosterone replacement therapy, Antonio Silva still failed his post-fight drug test following a “Fight of the Year” candidate against Mark Hunt in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 33.

MMAjunkie learned of the failure through multiple sources close to the event, which took place Dec. 7 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia, and was regulated by the promotion. UFC officials have since confirmed the failed screen, which indicated an elevated testosterone level.

“Silva is on a medically approved regimen of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and had been in compliance with therapeutic guidelines on all pre-fight tests performed prior to the event,” a statement issued by a UFC rep read. “The results of his test on the day of the event indicated a level of testosterone outside of allowable limit. Silva has been informed that the elevated testosterone level is a violation of the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and his Promotional Agreement with Zuffa.”
Quote:
Silva, a onetime title challenger, will be suspended for nine months. Additionally, he was stripped of his $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus, which will now be awarded to Hunt. The result of the fight will be changed to a “no contest” on Silva’s official record, while Hunt will retain the draw.

I wonder how much higher... doubt it was Overeem's levels.

Silva's FB post:

Quote:
Clarification: Months before my fight I looked for the UFC doctor Marcio Tannure in Brazil so I could start the hormonal replacement "TRT" which was authorized and recognized by a professional. I started the treatment and 2 weeks before my fight I did all the exams required by the UFC. My testosterone level continued to be low so I was recommended by the doctor to increase the dosage. Unfortunately my level increased too much and caused me to suspend. I only did what was recommended by someone trained who understands about the subject therefore it was not my mistake. I'm cool because I know that the mistake was not made by me,I never tried doing anything wrong for my fight.

"Overeem was created in a laboratory"

Says the guy who has tested positive for anabolic steroids and now elevated levels of testosterone.

Figuring out the correct dosage of testosterone for someone who has been on it for any decent period of time is extremely easy (meaning a dosage that will keep them within range). I'm not saying he's lying, but this is a very amateurish mistake (by whoever is to blame).

UFC fighter Chael Sonnen had several inches of his colon removed during emergency surgery on Nov. 15 - one day before his first-round loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167, according to a source.

Sonnen talked to TSN about the procedure during a taping of TSN's Off The Record on Wednesday, after host Michael Landsberg revealed that a source told him about it.

"It's a little bit of a surprise that you had that information," replied Sonnen, who would not confirm or deny whether he had undergone surgery.

I don't know if I believe this but if true........

Wouldn't he have had abdominal stitches if that were true?

In other Sonnen news, apparently Anderson Silva has accepted Chael's request to coach alongside him when he coaches TUF:Brazil against Wanderlei, schedule permitting. That will make for some interesting TV I'm sure.

I'm sure it's just Sonnen being Sonnen.

Chael Sonnen said "Rashad Evans won fair and square. That's the end of that."

And I heard Anderson turned down Chael based on scheduling.

Agreed. It's just odd that TSN would put it out there.

Some Brock Lesnar/UFC rumours going around. Seems like it comes up every few months so probably won't happen but apparently he'll be in Vegas this weekend.
