Depends on Tjarnqvists injury. Both of those two will be up as long Shaggy and Smid are out.

Well, Spector's site says Joni is available and the Flyers want a Dman in return.

These kinds of statements confuse me at the best of times and even moreso when the guy who is allegedly leaving town is young with lots of potential.

Teams that need one position filled are usually in that position because they don't have anything worth while already sooo why would a team trade, in this case, a defenceman just to get a lesser defenceman back?

And if a team is shopping a player it is usually because it is generally in a position of depth but they are short elsewhere and are looking to fill that hole.

It's one thing if your just shuffling depth players of a similar position but trading Pitkanen in order to 'help' your defence doesn't make sense at the best of times and at worst it should raise some red flags as to what may be wrong with Pitkanen.

It doesn't make sense to me either. I have no idea why the Flyers would trade Pitkanen, unless, like you said, there's some issue no one knows about. I think the only way they should think about it is if they are worried about future money for some reason, or the Flyers brass don't see them making a run for another 10 years so they want to pick up some first rounders. To be honest, them trading Joni would be a very dumb move.

Don Taylor's calling of the highlights should be funny:

"And there's Tom Gilbert taking the puck up the ice, wearing...uh...wearing, hold on...

*ruffle riffle ruffle*

"Ah, here we go. Adam Oates' old #77..."

One thing we know for sure, Gilbert will be a little faster.
