The Connundrum - Who Does One Cheer For?

There are two perfect examples tonight:
Calgary @ Colorado
Minnesota @ Vancouver

Who do you cheer for to get the win. Obviously the game going beyond regulation in either case is the least desirable outcome, giving both teams a point (or all 4 should they both go to OT) but do you want Colorado & Minny to win, which would put them both a point in front of us, but keep us within reach of the division frontrunners in the Canucks & Flames
or
do you hope for Calgary & Vancouver victories, while letting them slip further ahead, keeping the Avalanche & Wild at bay for now?

Quite the dilemma.

In times like these, remember ABC

Doesn't mean much now with them up 7-4, though.

Never cheer for Calgary... regardless. This case... I would have rathered Colorado win, and the Oiler overtake Calgary ofcourse. However, keeping Colorado burried is fine as well.

As long as we keep winning...

I never cheer for Calgary out of principle ( well ok last year just before the end of the season there was a Cal gave vs Vanc and I may have been sort of wanting the Flames to win that )

I wanted the Avs to win, because it was the Flames, but when the Avs were down to much I could still be happy and say it was a regulation loss for the Avs and it is more likely the Avs will miss the playoffs over the Flames ( to justify accepting the loss as something good )

Minny and Colorado. No question.

There's half a season left, and more than enough time for our other division rivals to drop in the standings. Either way, two of our division rivals are going to get 2 points tonight. Until we can actually gain something from them winning, I'll never cheer for the Cannucks or Flames.

You also have to watch out for Phoenix coming up in the standings but they lost today. I hope they cool off and go back to hibernation along with the other bottom feeders.

Cheer for?

Neither. I don't even bother watching, just let the division fall around the Oilers as they do. Another division, I will cheer against them. Either than that, not worth the worry, 2 points will go to one of them. Just hopefully a 1-0 score so the goals scored thing comes into play if needed.
