I wonder who comes out if Smid returns... possibly Roy?
I feel bad for Roy, he looks like he could have some potential but he's going to be stuck behind some quality young defencemen in Edmonton (Greene and Smid now along with Gilbert and Chorney in the near future). He could make a solid 7th defenceman for us though, he has decent mobility and I like the fact that he can actually shoot the puck (unlike some other depth defencemen for us in the past).
Considering Roy did score a goal last game I think he'll stay in ahead of Gilbert. Roy has more pro experience.
I think Smith-Hejda, Smid-Bergeron, Greene-Roy could be the pairings. Personally I would like to see Smid get another day of rest considering the club has back to back divisional games coming up. Let him sit one more and return a little healthier against the Flames. If he's not going to get any healthier then he'll come back tonight.
It sounds like Tjarnqvist will be out for a little while, maybe past the all-star break to maximize the time he has to heal.
