Pekka's surgery went fine. It is anticipated that he will return to play in the early part of January 2007 in Milwaukee.

He is the future back-up to Vokoun. If he matches anything like we saw last year, he is a future #1 goalie for the Preds.

Just my $0.02!

Seems good... but that's kind of old news

I was woundering if anything new had transpired?

Just hope he dosn't turn into another Dan Blackburn that have seen is career terminated by a silly shoulder accident. Cause I too see a future number 1 anytime I look is way

Rinne has started working out with goaltending coach Mitch Korn in Nashville. He is anticipated to be in Nashville for about 7-10 days before heading back to Milwaukee.

Looks like he is ahead of schedule on his return between the pipes!

I would check with some of the Admirals folks...

Last I heard as of January 3:

Rinne update: Goaltender Pekka Rinne, sidelined since undergoing shoulder surgery during training camp, was also on the ice Tuesday.

He's also expected to spend today and Thursday working with Korn before returning to Milwaukee to practice with the Admirals on Friday.

"We are optimistic that in a few weeks, no pinpointed date, we will be able to get him in game situation," Korn said.

To tell you the truth, I've been going through this forum, the Preds site, and the Tennesseean for Rinne info. Judging by one of the MilAds forums, so have the posters over there. It seems the Milwaukee paper has been getting what little info they have through the Preds or Noel, since it sounds like Pekka is working out in Nashville right now.

EDIT: Given that this thread is about goalies, are the Preds carrying three, currently? What is the scoop with Leighton and are the Ducks still set on attempting to re-claim him?

Pekka should be back within ten days from what I've been told. He's doing quite well, now they are just wanting him to get mentally back in the game.
