I know he hasn't produced in the NHL much but he has 52 points in 25 ahl games which is pretty impressive imo.

If you read the bottom of sam's article.. Hall is a sratch for tommorrow-- he kinda hides it in there, makes you sick first, and if you have the stomach to reach the end, its like the light at the end of the tunnel.

Krog over ward or hall can not be the worst thing in the world.

One thing that bugged me about ward, which i dont know how many people caught (didnt mention this in the GDT) is that he is totally afraid of physical play. That goal he scored yesterday, the puck was not officially in the net yet, he was on the edge of the crease-- when the D man came towards him, he ran behind the back of the net, and luckily the puck went in. he should have charged foward to make sure it did go in, we got lucky there.

Hopefully Krog will use his body a little more then Hall-- might not hit as hard, but what good is size if you do not use it?

But the probelm with Immo. is his speed on which is already a slow team. Maybe they plan on giving Imo the rest of the year in the AHL and hope he can pick up some quick feet next year.

Yeah but at least he's in the right position most of the time.

If he goes in for Hall ill love it. Hopefully Krog has a bit of a Prucha-style in him, small but fearless.

Havent seen him play much... but
Judging by the scouting report he might be. "Gung-Ho" style.

Nice pick up. Cost us nothing.

NYR will def start looking into making some moves as the deadline gets closer.

I guess... I'm just far from convinced that a marginal NHLer with above average speed will help this franchise in the long term or the short time. If he's AHL filler, that's fine, he can help develop Callahan and Korpi. But at the NHL level, with this team doomed to mediocrity, I'd rather see a slow Immo get minutes than a fast retread like Krog.

Jagr-Straka Prucha
Shanahan-Nylander-Hossa
Cullen-Krog-Hollweg
Ward-Betts-orts

That does not look to bad if they play those lines..

Sorry for my ignorance, but WHO? Can someone give me a quick run down on who this guy is. From what you guys are all saying he doesnt seem like a game breaking player but decent enough to be on the bottom 6, that about right?

If Pitts was to offer us Moore for Hall... Would you make that trade?

Krog has been around for a while, he's 31. He was last in the NHL with the Thrashers earlier this season and had 1-3-4 in 14GP. For his career (Islanders, Ducks, Thrashers), he has 19-37-56 in 189 GP. He's smallish at about 5'10, but he always seemed to me to have a decent skill set. I guess he'll be fine on our third or fourth line, but I'd prefer Immo.

He did record 85 points in 41 games as a senior at UNH.

I thought we were sticking with the lines from late in the third last night? Something like this would seem right to me:

Prucha Straka Jagr
Hossa Nylander Shanny
Hollweg Cullen Ward
Betts Krog Orts

Who knows, I could be way off.

Thank you,I still dont understand why they felt they had to make this move when there are other problems with the club. But I suppose it cant hurt to have as many bargaining chips as possible when trying to make trades. Anyone think he will see ice time tomorrow against Boston?

Knowing Renney, that sounds about right- The experiment that worked last night producing 4 goals in a period, meant nothing.

He won the Hobey Baker that year as well.

Hmm, Krog. I don't know. Not a huge fan. Half the league passed on this guy, not sure I know why this was necessary right now.

I think Sam said somewhere in the blog that the lines from the 3rd period stayed that way in practice, so you might be right here...

From Sams Blog:

Quote:
I don’t know where the addition of Krog leaves the Rangers now—he is expected to play tomorrow against the Bruinsbut the team did practice with the same lines you saw for the third period last night. Moreover, the defensive pairings were scrambled so that Thomas Pock would play with Michal Rozsival, Marek Malik would be with Aaron Ward, and Fedor Tyutin would be with Karel Rachunek. Darius Kasparaitis and Adam Hall are both expected to be scratches tomorrow.
