i know and i still want immonen up here and krog also, i'd rather get rid of ward, hall, and maybe even betts. But ppl were complaing that this leaves immo no chance this season, and i think that krog atleast deserves a chance to play here over maybe immo who can get more playing time in the ahl right now.
Good face off man, somewhat decent shot but nothing special. He played for Frölunda last season and of course here he had a big impact but here (5 g, 1a, 7 gp) doesn't seam to fit in the NHL. Maybe the Rangers could assign him to us for the rest of the season, we'd love him here.
Maybe he'll help this team win some more faceoffs. But it's not a big pickup. Guys you get off waivers usually aren't. Strikes me as a Matt Cullen Lite but better on faceoffs.
So with Hall sitting, would it be out of the realm of possibility that Krog gets some second PP Unit time? I would like to think hes got better hands than Hall, seeing his AHL numbers.

The report I've heard from guys who have played with him (that surprised me a little), is that he's a very clumsy skater, not nearly the most talented guy even in the AHL, but amazingly smart on the ice with a great sense of where to be. That sense may not be enough by itself to translate to NHL success, though.

I love this move. Krog is a very solid role player and a very useful cog on our bottom lines. He adds a lot, a LOT of speed down there -- something Immonen couldn't offer us. His offense is on par with Immo's but his defense is definately an upgrade.
Gotta love this move. He's a sure-fire upgrade on our bottom 6. Adds speed and offense.

Half the league already has a better bottom 6 than we do. This is a good, short term move for the team.

This tells me that Immonen has no future with the Rangers. Too bad, I still see him making it a bottom line center somewhere in the NHL. But maybe the people here who think of him as a AAAA player have it right. We shall see.
This is not a bad move if Krog is anything like Dom Moore. Nothing major, but if Hall finds himself in the press-box as a result, it is worth it. At this point I'd play Colton Orr most of the time over Hall.

What does picking up a 3rd/4th line center have to do with building for the future? In all actuality, this actually HELPED the rebuild since he's:
A) a decent upgrade on the bottom lines
B) cost absolutely NOTHING

I'm in a dwindling minority here, but I still like Jarkko and think he can be a piece of our future. If you're like me and think Jarkko can be a solid player, then it just comes across as Jarkko being blocked. However, all indications seem to point to the organization souring on him. If you're not sold on Immonen, then I'd agree that it's a good move to make.

Can't say I'm crazy about the pick-up because he's one of the softest players in the NHL and we need players to compete every shift...But I don't think he's worthless though..A decent FO guy and some speed.and skill.but translates to very little production on the NHL level (Hmm, where have we seen that..)...But he's here as our 4th C so it may be a fit for awhile...And unlike others, I don't see this move as really blocking anybody bacuase I find IMMO lacking and the other Cs need a little more time...
However, my choice would have been to call up a W (Dawes? Callahan?) from Hartford to pair with CUllen as a C on one of the two bottom lines...
As for the lines with Krog, totally against Cullen-Krog-Holly becasue it puts Hollweg out of position yet again...I'd go with Cullen-Krog-Ward (more offense then Holly) in tandem with the HBO line (which i think could get better game by game)
This is a bit confusing. What does this do for us down the line? Do we see this as a piece of the puzzel that will help us in playoff contention? What will happen when the four horsemen where down in late March? Do we buy a new stable in Feb for the forecasted March burnout? We for sure have not been mentoring any new blood and it appears Hartford is not in the picture for this year.
From what we have seen so far it looks like a cabon copy of lack of development as in years past. Why have a farm team if it is not utilized? Maybe for trade bait?
Where is our contingency plan if this thing starts to come appart? Do we have one?

Well Orr isn't a "player" so he doesn't count. But you do have a good point. Lots of scrubs on this team that should go elsewhere.
Funny how there is no mention of Jarkko Immonen there from Maloney. Immonen is at least as capable as Krog, if not more.
See...now Immonen is going to be missed. Seriously...we send Jarko down for this fool? This team really doesn't understand it's problems, it's unbelievable.
