I didn't say he was the worst d-man in the NHL. He is a good d-man on a bad team. The only reason Montreal is in the playoffs is Theodore. His numbers remind me of Cliff Ronning's, he always puts up solid numbers on bad teams. Yet no good teams want him. You pull out of your ass two good games he had this year, but what you left out is the fact he has most of his points against bad teams. Monteal's hart canidate is Theodore not Souray.

Souray = Defenseman.
Ronning = Forward.
Montreal = Good team, not bad.

Whatever scouts will say, size's the most important thing! (I've already heard that)

We are forgetting Patrick Traverse far too rapidly!

Very tough choice.

Eric Brewer was very good at the Olympics where we won Gold and I really like the guy, but he hasn't had that great of a year (except for the last month).

Derek Morris has had a great year and IMO deserves serious recognition.

Wade Redden is also having yet again a good year. Also should deserve serious consideration.

While I do like Bryan Mccabe, I'm not sure if he's as attractive as a choice as the above three.

And for the record, I gave my vote to Derek Morris.

So he really has 5 points in 25 games against the elite teams. Since the 6 point night against Pitt, he has 0 points against the likes of Toronto, Ottawa, and NJ. He obviously is better than the players on the weaker teams, but can't compete with the big boys. Most overated player in the NHL this season, nobody will be talking about him next season.
No, he really has 32 pts. Every player gets to play against both good, and bad teams, not just Souray

please dont try to discredit the guy, you cought him playing in his worst night this year(TO game),
he's actualy a great defencemen, and as you should know a good defencemen doesnt have to get a point in a game to have a good game.
some of those games where he was held pointless he played alote better then the ones where he got points.
my point lets lay off the guy you dont see me overhyping him do you?
and i love his game.
those games against atlanta he coverd kovalchuck, and kovalchuck has no points on us this season, thats just very minor example,
stop looking at stats to find the players worth, and one game of watching him wont cut it either, i can tell you with no bias at all he is an awsome defencemen, and im glad we have him, our special teams high, and he has alote to do with it. he is a valuable member to his team.
you know how you(gopierrehedin) like mccabe, well i like souray.
but i dont try to discredit mccabe.

All I'm saying is that it's retarded seeing "Souray for Norris" threads.

The guy's been cold for half his games.

I vote other, with a write in of Greg Stack. I may be slow, a little over weight, bad tempered and have an alcohol abuse issue...but I'm better than Brisebois ;-)

I voted for Brewer, he was at the Olympics and won there, I think he should continue being a part of the team. (I wish McCabe would get it though)

no man not half his game, maybe 10% are you bassing that he's cold half his games on points???, if so then you have to understand points by a defencemen are 2nd in importance, he's been the most consistent player for the habs this year besides theodore,
and no souray is not norris worthy , but that doesnt make him a bad player,
now im trying to be as polite as i can possibly be, but you saying this "The guy's been cold for half his games" is just sad and wrong.
norris worthy - no
first pair - yes

i dont make comments or dig up info on mccabe, because i honestly dont care and havnt seen enough leaf games to make a fair assesment on him, and not watching the guy play all year is not grounds to make an opinion on him.
the only teams i watch on a regular basis is:
montreal
columbus
florida
edmonton
calgary

also why are you soo worried by everyones opinions ??? it doesnt bother me, it doesnt bother alote of people, but remember most these opinions people have are theres to make.

I think McCabe will get it. His game, when he's on it, is better in most areas than Redden. The only thing stopping him is staying on the ball, and consistently.

McCabe, when he is on, is better than Redden in 2 areas, hitting and his shot (which is barely better than Reddens). Redden is a better defensive player, is a better skater, is better at carying the puck, and most importantly, is a FAR, FAR better passer, which is more important the better your team is (and Canada's WC squad will be highly skilled). Redden has also been good for than 4 months.

You seem to have a lot of animosity against the Habs lately. Coming to our board, making lame attempts at jokes... that was Johnny V's job, he did it well, leave it to him.

Before slamming our dmen, one that would probably be a savior in T.O., look at your blue line. Wait, I'm mistaken Carlo Coaliacovo will be the next Paul Coffey!!

Shouldn't you be parading your tin foil Stanley Cup up and down Toronto anyway?

omg the reason he did it is because of **** like this, we get it all the time from people (especially from habs fans, *not trying to generalize there are some very good habs fans on this board*) who think they are the first ones to think of the name "Laffs" and its really getting old
