Paraphrasing, but that is what Therrien said on 24CH. His vision of the team and what he has is so far apart. Instead of exploiting the style of players at his disposal, he's imposing a style that doesn't fit his team. When I look at the roster, this is not a grinding team. Nothing about Briere, Desharnais, Gallagher, Pacioretty, Plekanec, Gionta, Eller, Galchenyuk and Bourque says grinding.
Wow....the Habs are about as far from a grinding team as you can get. LA is a grinding team....Habs are.....I don't know what the **** they are.

We play a style that is suited for bigger players. Reason why they're done at mid-season.

Hard working. Relying on PP and goalie. That's it. But while we are not grinding, the natural talent isn't that obvious as well.

They're a nothing team. They can't break out of their own zone, they're ****ing awful at it. Chip the puck up the boards and turn it over or pass to the covered man and lose the puck. If they ever do gain the offensive zone , that was one thing MT was right about saying. Not a fancy team at all, no one slows down the play and tries to generate anything offensively. They try to get it on net and fail.

Bourque is a ****ing black hole.

He should never see the ice again. That Gauthier mistake is the gift that keeps on taking away from the Habs.

I don't understand how he actually believes this is the right style for this team. I just don't get it..

Repeat after me.

Timmins is a god!!!!!!!

Edit. Did not draft Thomas. We traded one of his midgets for another midget.

As Carbonneau said, last season this is when the collapse started (Around 30 games into the season).

Bergevin had a great opportunity last year to improve the team. He didn't, he made it worse.

Now we're stuck with this team.

Doubtful that Reway and Andrighetto and every other undersized player that he drafted will make more of a difference than Briere, Gionta, DD etc and so on.
There is no forward in Hamilton who is ready to be an offensive sparkplug right now. And those who can score, are another batch of midgets.

Gionta, seriously, how desperate is he with his soft wide angle shots? He's constantly shooting from angles where he has zero chance of scoring. Yes Gionta, your big pay years are over, you have no biceps and now you've become one of the most selfish players out there. Trade his sorry ass ASAP.

Wait a minute ... turns out nobody wants him. Great, extend him MB, could be had for cheap.

I know Bourque HAS BEEN *****.
Take off Gionta and replace him with ANYONE! That's my point.

With Markov and Subban, and to a lesser extent Diaz in combo with Guys who can skate like Plekanec, Eller, Pacioretty, Bournival, Gionta, Bourque, Desharnais, there is no reason why the Canadiens can't be a decent transition/counter-attack team.

There is just no creativity and we've seen creativity in the past on the part of Plekanec, Eller, Galchenyuk, Desharnais, Subban, Markov...but it's all gone. They just dump, lump shots on the net, try to crash or defer to Markov and Subban.

Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gionta
Bourque-Brière or Desharnais-Bournival
Moen-Prust-White

I would like to see those lines.

"As far as I'm concerned, nobody showed up to play tonight. Nobody. We didn't want to pay the price to succeed, with the expected results. We need way better work ethic. Real dissapointed. Really hard to explain. The only time we've worked was on the penalty kill." - MT

That's a coach calling out his players... let's see what happens on Saturday.

As a Habs fan I'm used to the annual Christmas swoon where we are in a great spot and **** the bed for 2 weeks and then have to scratch and claw to make the playoffs.

It doesn't make it any easier to watch though.

Matching up well against a particular team doesn't mean **** about whether they're cup contenders or not. It just means that a team somehow plays a certain way against another team in a certain way regardless of record. We match up well against teams like Vancouver; we always manage to beat their sorry ***** even when we sucked during the Cunneyworth season. It's the opposite against the Blues. Doesn't matter who's the coach, this team always craps the bed against them.
