Seems the Rangers get the shaft

But if Tuumo can get over the injury bug...it could be a good deal for us in the future.

Plus we add a very very solid defenseman. Not sure how much his contract is or how many years though.

This is how I looked it at:

Cullen slight edge over Verbata.
Accoin a huge edge over Kaspar.
Ruutu a big edge over Prucha (thats if he stays healthy though).

But like i said, its temping but i'm not sure I'd go through with it just because of the injury risk of Ruutu.

I don't think Ruutu will be and Prucha is currently outproducing Ruutu even though he has played 10 more games than TR.....Of course we realize Prucha spent a chunk of that time on the bottom lines with very little ice time.

.....and Aucions contract I think is like 4 mil a year for 2 more years... we can buyout Kaspar and save some cap space.

....Vrbata a slight edge over Cullen? I have to disagree I think Cullen is the better of the two players.

Looks pretty even, one of the good proposals I've seen, and like Flyline said, its tempting. The only reason I don't pull the trigger is because I love Prucha, and I bet as soon as he gets dished, we're going to regret it.

No, Cullen a slight edge over Vrbata. I agree Cullen is better.

I'd love to have Aucoin...but not worth all that.

I love Ruutu's game but he's injured way too much, Vrbada isn't better than Prucha and Aucoin hasn't been close to the player he was on Long Island since he's been a Hawk. Pass.

If i'm trading Prucha in part of a deal to the Hawks I want Barker or Seabrook coming back the other way. It has been said by many on this board and elsewhere that Acuoin (sp) has had problems adjusting to the new NHL and is way overpaid for his play.

Aucion is not the solution to this teams defensive problems and is not worth 4 million for the next two seasons.

you guys are such homers, seriously

i love how ruutu gets crapped on yet he's easily the best player in the deal, injury concerns or not

i love prucha as much as the next guy but he is not currently as good or better than ruutu, and to say he hustles and not give ruutu his due is pretty lame

Seriously. Put this proposal on the trade board and people will be saying this would be a bad deal for the Hawks. Not the rangers.

bottom line is you don't trade for question marks. That Hawk package is one big question mark.

kaspar >>> aucoin

kaspar has only one year left on contract versus aucoin's many.
kaspar offers a strong physical game.
defensively it's probably close.
kaspar seems to have recovered from his injury unlike aucoin.

prucha = ruutuu

Although Prucha has scored more goals, their stats and play have been about even. Prucha's heart >>> Tuomo's. Tuomo's size > Prucha's. I don't know how Ruutuu's speed is but Petr Puck has some decent wheels. Both have similar upsides and it's just a matter of if they develop fully. This becomes a positional trade. Do you trade a fan favorite potentially awesome winger for a potential 1-2 centerman? Ruutuu was one of the highest drafted centermen of his draft year.

cullen > vrbata

as much praise as vrbata has gotten, he's failed to produce a 20 goal season in 5 years. Might he blossom? Maybe. Cullen is just a better player at the moment.

I agree, if you are trading Prucha, you have to be getting yourself Seabrook. Even Barker is unproven so I'm hesitant to take him. But that's what scouts are for i guess.
