For all intents & purposes that's a PPG

04:36 TBL Teddy Purcell Too many men/ice - bench

06:36 NSH Craig Smith (7) Wrist shot - ASST: Matt Cullen (9), Shea Weber (10) 2 - 1 TBL

Agree completely. Official stats technically get it right, but it's just silly to try and say that's an even stength goal. Sometimes you have to go with the spirit of the law instead of the letter.

So let me get this straight....going into the third period the PREDATORS were trailing 4-2, but were OUT-SHOT 15-9? It really looked like Tampa was the team trailing and trying to tie the game.

Too many Tampa players were left w-i-d-e open in the slot area. At least 2 of Tampa's goals were because our players were either late getting back or were standing around watching the puck and not paying attention to their defensive assignments. Game after game after game this is happening.

I don't understand how this team just loses it from one week to the next. 3 good games one week, 3 bad ones the next week, 3 good, 5 bad. It's not like I expect them to play great and win every game, they can play well and still lose (and we've seen them play bad and get a win). But it's just that they go too many stretches where they look bad and lose and then suddenly look like world beaters for a week, then right back to the team that can't do anything right. You can tell within in the first 5 minutes of the game which Preds team came to play that day and which streak the team is heading towards.

Maybe this streak will only be 2 games and they'll play well on Saturday.

If your statement was we haven't created an ES goal in over 100 minutes, you might have a point. But, that wasn't what you said. You stated we had not SCORED an ES goal ... words mean things ... and your verb choice made your statement a fallacy.

Too many players not competing and getting out worked. Happened in front of me all night and was on their faces almost from the beginning.
Exceptions-- Ellis, smith
Body language of Hutton after the second goal. He should have been pulled then. Was all over his face.
Thought Bourque was going to unravel after he messed up in the first .. His face and body language.

Didn't understand all the d Pair switching. Ironically Ellis looked good. Jones didn't at all.

Saw that jones and stahlberg were on pp unit. Didn't help it.

Stahlberg got manhandled and pushed around all night. Well, most of the team did also.

Lots of non calls on the preds in the second. Surprised horny could skate back to the bench after one of them.

Tampas lightning bolt maker on the ceiling is incredible!

Yeah, I didn't like being right on that one. Here's to hoping Maz can find his form for 5 or so now.

Here's what I don't get. Spaling makes some huge mistakes and gets put on the powerplay. Wilson or Smith make mistakes they get the pressbox.

Same reason why Hendricks wasn't called out the other day after his stupid interference penalty.

Is it effort? I usually defend effort level, but is Spaling and Hendricks, and Nystroms effort level and compete level higher?

Good players, no matter if they are a point a game superstar or a 4th line energy grinder all have great effort.

Seems to be what zone they apply the effort.
