Morin was named second star in a 7-2 win versus Shawinigan, despite not posting a point, but he was +2 with 2 hits.

Morin is now 20th in D scoring in the Q and 7th among sub 19 year olds. (PPG)

Progression on the Offensive end going quite nicely so far this year.

Even if his scoring doesn't materialize he still brings a lot to the table. and he is too talented to not have an impact on offense.

I am getting psyched for the WJC. It will be awesome to see if Laughton and Leier play on the same line. Not to mention it will be fun to watch Hagg play against people his age. I hope Valeri Vasiliev gets some good minutes, since I never get a chance to watch him play. It should be fun.

So, can't get NHL network here in Central Texas.

Thoughts on ways to watch WJC?

Based on this, I hope that Kapanen falls to us. Would love to have Sami's kid on the team, especially since he looks to be a lot better offensively than what his dad was. Plus he plays wing.

A lot better? I don't know about a lot. In his prime Sami put up 50-70 points a year and that was during a time when there were very few guys that even topped 80 points. He was never a superstar but he shouldn't be judged by the numbers he put up in Philly during the twilight of his career. He plays on the same team with his kid now and even at 40 he's still putting up better numbers than him. If Kasperi turns into the 50-70 point player that his dad was in his prime, that will be a very successful pick.

I know what you mean and I agree. Sami was a pretty damn good top 6, 25 goal, 50+ point forward each year for the first 6 full years of his NHL career, (including 4 where he was ~60 or more point pace) before he got more pegged as a shutdown guy... he showed in 05-06 he could still be a 50 point player though when given a chance.

But Kasperi is a far more 'natural' goalscorer from what I have watched. (insanely good shot, maybe that and his skating are his best attributes)

I may go over and watch him in person in ~March, depending on if I am still in europe then. Got the HIFK and Espoo games provisionally marked in the calender. (Not going over just to watch hockey, but going to be around Helsinki near that time if I go so may as well!)

Having only seen short clips on YouTube, Kasperi strikes me as a very similar player to Matt Read. I'd love it if he ended up a Flyer.

ADK beat Norfolk 5-4 earlier today. Akeson and Manning both had three point games, the former had 3a and the later 2g and 1a. Newbury added a goal and an assist. The other goal scorers were Gervais and Bordson.

Akeson now has 21 points in 26 games to lead the phantoms.

It would be pretty strange for Kimmo and Hartnell if they are still around wouldn't it?

Since Sami is a big bud of theirs. Doubt if they drafted Kasperi he would play straight away, but it would be weird at camp.

Do u or anybody else actual watch the games? Cousins hasn't been producing. Even though early in his career, that isn't a good sign for future NHL production. Is he being used strictly in a shutdown role?

I watch some of the games. He's not being used in a shutdown role really but he definitely isn't getting a ton of ice time. He's in a funk right now and that's kinda hard to break out of when you don't get a butt load of ice time. I'm not worried about him, he started the season with a bang and has trailed off but this is his first year pro. His line-mates aren't doing much to help him break out of this rut either, I would wait more then 33 games into his pro career before I start getting worried (8 or which came in previous years).

Morin had an assist in Rim. 3-2 shootout win last night. Was also a -1 though.

Now has 16 points in 27 games.

What size is he? I do not want another water bug. We need a big scoring winger with some speed who can win battles along the wall and is decent in his own end. I am not asking for much am I Get her done Holmgren

Except that Hartnell doesn't have speed, he doesn't win battles along the boards, he can't shoot, he can't pass, he can't play defense, and he can't have the puck on his stick for more than 3 seconds without turning it over. All he can really do is get garbage goals in front of the net, but he's decided against that this year.

Have you watched him play recently? He's comparable to what Briere was at the end of his run. Completely useless. I feel bad for whoever is on his line. Do you think it's a coincidence that Giroux and Voracek have gone on a tear since he left the line? He was replaced by Michael Raffl. Michael ****ing Raffl, not Wayne Gretzky. Now all of the sudden G and Jake can score 5 on 5. I feel legit bad for Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. Last year they were killed by Briere. Now they have to drag Hartnells useless ass up and down the rink every shift. I'm sure they are counting down the days, like kids waiting for Xmas, waiting for Vinny to return. Then Hartnell can go rot on the 4th line or in the press box.
