****, we lost to St. Louis because Briere can't do anything and now we lost to Nashville. Wish we signed Pierre-Marc Bouchard

There, most of you and your excuse is already posted.

If you remove the 6 games Briere has had where he played less than 10 minutes, he still has 10 points in 18 games which isn't that bad. IMO he's played the best when on a line with Pleks and Gio.

As far as Bouillon is concerned, people need to remember that this is a homecoming of his so to speak as I believe this is his first game back in Nashville since returning to the Habs a couple of years ago.

Brière with Plek/Galch after benching would be weird at best, and their playing much better than Eller.

Conclusion : Briere plays with Eller.
Honeslty Brière on a 3rd with Eller and Bourque can do no harm. It's his spot. We shoulnt expect to keep two grinding line (such as Moen-Eller-Bournival) for long. We score by comitee and two lines isnt a big comitee...

Moen - Prust - Bournival is a fine fourth line.

Great coach, too.

You have no idea how dumb you would be to not take a timeout with 2 seconds left on a 5 on 3.

I love Emelin, but he should be scratched ahead of any other dmen after last night's game.

It's only fair to be completely honest. Therrien feels the need to call out Subban any time he has a weak game, he sits Bouillon and Murray after weak games, he sat and talked about Desharnais during his slump, and he sat Briere and Bourque when they were healthy too.

I like Emelin but him being scratched is justified after last game, it's fair
Hopefully he gets the message and comes back playing better, he hasn't exactly been good lately

Briere is playing on the wing, where he's not comfortable. In the past 6 games, our whole team has looked like crap. Take away those games, and he's got 10pts in 20gp, which is pretty much what I thought he'd be, a .5 ppg player. But apparently that wasn't good enough for Therrien, and he wants more from him. He wants to see more intensity and compete out of the way declined 36yo. Expecting an intense dump and chase style out of Briere? Really? That just ain't going to happen. Making him center the 4th line for about 5min won't change much either.

Emelin has no business playing on the right side. He just looks bad. He looked bad last year there as well, except he wasn't coming back from a big injury on top of it.

That has been the truth all year long, just look at Ottawa this season without Anderson standing on his head. We are the same, not enough talent to win without a strong goalie, if our organization was as good at scouting potential first liners as they are with goalies, we would be the envy of the league. But midgets just midgets.

He didn't have training camp and it is showing, he will be better with 5-10 more games, he is not a bad player but I would pair him with Markov to help him out, Subban does not need to be there.

I love those lines to be honest. Briere was good with Pleks and Gio, DD gets two big bodies to play with, EGG is back, fourth line all hustle.

Yeah, it is. He played for them for a long time too. I have no problem with MT playing Cube in this game. It's normal. If a guy doesn't play in his hometown, or against a former team that's when you know the coach is really pissed at him.

I agree with you on Briere. When given opportunitities, he produces. MT isn't giving him a lot of opportunity. I go back and forth with Briere. The talent is still there. He can make some pretty sick passes.

Didn't see the last game and while I am an Emelin fan, there is nothing wrong with him sitting and reflecting on his play for a game. I am fine with Diaz sitting as well. Bouillon needs ice time to stay sharp in case an emergency arises.

The team also needs to continue to evaluate Briere to see if he really wants to play or if he just wants to collect a paycheque. It might as well be against Nashville for both of them.

Nashville is a team with a solid defense but poor offense. They shouldn't be underestimated since they have their share of speedsters on that team, they play a disciplined game, and it's not like we've been scoring bunches of goals lately.
