It sure as hell surprises me because I rarely see him break up plays. In fact, its hilarious when when goals are converted against us and Jagr floats into the picture a little after.

Staal >> Smid

but the real thing is we are no where near making that or a pronger-scaled deal because Anaheim is very close to being a cup team and we (despite what Dolan might think) are no where near. It's the right time for them to make that deal. Chris Pronger was probably the difference from Anaheim meeting Carolina last year.

Staal is my only untouchable.

Borderline/think (twice, three times a lady) before trading
Sauer, Prucha, Dubinsky, Montoya, Dawes, Pyatt

Go ahead
Jessiman, Immonen, Moore, Byers, Korpikoski, Sanguinetti, Cliche
but the latter three have to be for a good youngish player. I'd be pissed if a Korpi or Cliche was traded for a UFA rental this year, or a player like Martin Rucinksy or Marty Reasoner. someone we don't need for our longterm.

Jagr will never be known for his defense, but he can actually be a good defensive player. He often doesn't have to be, because his line often is controlling the puck.

He seems to "float" at times, because of his long skating stride, and this tendency is more pronounced when he's tired and/or injured.

I'd deal Dawes way before I'd deal anyone of that trio, especially Sanguinetti, who is simply the potetnially the best offensive-,inded defenseman we have in the system.. As for Cliche and Korpikoski, I think both have the potential for better, all-around games.

I think Smid in his first season is performing well, i would not be shocked if Staal next year will have similar numbers.

What about Dawes and Calllahan in a package deal? NYR seem to be less interested in these guys. Value? Maybe each one with Picks or a vet may attract attention vs. Prucha..........comments? Prucha I'd keep.........Not sure on Dubi....not convienced as of yet. Callahan has attracted some attention as Dawes did last year.

Lundqvist and Staal are the only players I wouldn't trade no matter what.

jas...

Dawes vs. Korps is an interesting comparison. It's so tough to tell on Korps. He just shows so little offense and after this year, I'll stop using the young excuse for him not producing and begin to start to expect a bit more offense. I've been impressed with his ability to handle the puck, and skate, but lately that's been it. He was more physical earlier in the season and I don't know when he got his last point.

No one.

I just don't trust Sather to make good deals.

Maybe I'm wrong (and I'm not going to try to defend my opinion), but it's just the way I feel.

I'll never doubt Dawes ability to produce at the NHL level, since he has killed every level he's been at over time (he'll be a Gionta-type if given the chance IMO). But I will say that Korpikoski will be a Ranger well before Dawes. You (or this organization)do not put Dawes on the fourth line and/or third line. He's a top six forward and he needs to be treated like one. He does not have great speed, nor the size to hit and grind and be effective on those two bottom lines. This is why we have not seen him stay. Korpikoski could be a great shutdown winger even if his offense does not pan out to be second line worthy. He's got speed, size, defensive willingness, and hitting willingness.
