Just trying to think between 2006 and current who has been the weakest team? What team has been a team that could really use a rebuild between 2006-2007.. My opinion it's Edmonton I mean look at the first round picks that they had in early 2000s... But want to hear who other peoples weak team has been from 2006 to now

Pretty sure it's the Edmonton Oilers.

I think Edmonton's finals run in 2006 on the backs of Pronger and Roloson should disqualify them from worst team discussions.

The Isles, like the Oilers, have never finished higher than 8th, but they also haven't won any playoff rounds. Unlike the Panthers and Leafs, they never even came close to qualifying in any of the years they missed the playoffs.

I would agree. Consider the Islanders' three playoff wins to be worth 6 points and the Oilers' fifteen playoff wins to be worth 30 points, and then the Oilers would leapfrog them in the above chart. And that's giving playoff wins lower value than they probably deserve.

Agree with the posters who say Edmonton's run to the finals alone pushes them above the Islanders. Pushes them above the Blue Jackets, as well.

When you consider the disparity in conference strength over the last decade, the Islanders have to be the worst.

Got to love the Leafs in this time frame. They were never bad enough to be worst, but never good enough to make the playoffs until last year. Sort of makes you miss the Ballard years. I can't believe I said that.
