I love the holiday spirit, but I don't really like the holidays either. First time in my life where someone said "You can all go **** yourselves" on Christmas.

Had a nice, calm, great Christmas this time around. Granted, that may change for Xmas Part II on Sunday, depending on if my alcoholic mess of an aunt is having an off day or not.

Sorry you had a drama filled Xmas Day, Trance. Mine was pretty quiet and kind of boring but I get another try on Saturday with Xmas Round 2.

In the meantime, I think I'm getting sick. Grrrr.

Nah, but booked reservations for it when I'm up there in February in March, to take my mom there for her bday.

I didn't make it up there for this Christmas, since we booked going up there for the Hawks/Pens game. Flights have just been absurdly expensive, and are only going up. Cheapest we could find for the trip we did book were about $300/pop.

Gotcha. I may have to scout it for you.

We have to grab some drinks when you do make it up here.

It's Fabio's restaurant, who does a lot of videos on YouTube and was on Top Chef. Very reasonably priced, for the class of food that it is, and for being handmade pasta.

No, they live here, I flew up. But they want to visit family/friends in Florida so we're driving down. Waste of a round trip ticket.

Our waiter last night oddly enough lived off and on in Dolton and Cal City, and I think was in the same graduating class as my parents at Thronridge HS... it was really creepy. Guy practically lived 2 streets away from where my entire family grew up.

Should have seen the look on his face when I said my grandparents still live in Cal City right off Sibley, and him factoring in that they're white. He didn't say anything, but the expression was hilarious.

My stepmom grew up in Dolton and her parents' house was on Sibley, as well. They moved to Mokena around 2000, if I remember correctly, maybe a couple of years earlier, and we thought even THEN that they had waited too long.

They've been in their house since the 50s. They ain't going anywhere, no matter how many times we try to tell them to move. It is what it is, as they say.
