Who's gotta stay...who's gotta go...who can stay or go as they please?

Stay

Because they're great: Kopitar, Frolov, Brown, Cammy, Vis...Norstrom,

Because we can't get rid of them: Blake, Cloutier, Tverdovsky

Stay or Go

Because they're ok/have little impact: Kosto, Avery, Army, Dallman, Willsie.

Because they've been injured: McAuley

Because of the Cloutier extension: Garon

Go

Because they aren't cutting it: Thornton, Conroy, Murray,

Because they're worth the most in deadline deals: Avery, Miller, Sopel, Norstrom, Armstrong, Conroy, Cammy

This last section is probably more extensive than some might like, but, provided DL was being truthful when he said that he wanted some good young players at the deadline, you have to think he's looked beyond simply trading Conroy and Miller. Norstrom and Cammy are the two most valuable of the lot and, given their roles on the team and their perceived ability to continue to contribute to the team in the future, I've included them in more than one category.

Expected returns on these players:

Miller-mid round picks; mid-range prospect if packaged with Conroy or Army
Avery-see above (maybe a bit more valuable)
Conroy-see above
Army-see above
Sopel-low pick; maybe mid-range prospect
Norstrom-1st rounder; maybe decent prospect
Cammy-1st rounder; good prospect if packaged with one or two of first four

The only 3 I'd keep that you have in the go pile are TK, McCauley and Murray. TK is young and pretty good at what he does. Murray is one of the cheapest contracts in the league. McCauley is a former Selke finalist. When he's healthy and Conroy is moved, we'd have Kopitar, 2nd line center, McCauley down the middle. No sense in trying to get rid of Thornton, I think he'll retire after this abysmal season. Send Dallman on a one way ticket to Manchester. Willsie to waivers, if he's nabbed, he's nabbed, it's not like his -18 will be attractive to anyone. No one will want T-Vo or Cloutier, and Blake isn't going anywhere if Lombardi wants JJ to sign. Garon, move him. He's a soon to be UFA, and no one should walk for free. The core is Kopitar, Frolov, Brown imo.

Who I'd move.

Cammy, Visnovsky, Sopel, Conroy, Miller, And Matty if he wants to be moved.

Yeah...I tweeked the category to reflect the fact that some of the players make a valuable contribution to the team.

Tverdovsky is a free agent is he not? I'm sure someone will take him.

At this point keep Kopitar, Fro, Brown, Cammy, Vis and all the kids. I'd keep TK because there needs to be somebody to go into the corners.

The rest I could care less about.

I find it funny how people think certain players on this team are crap and need to go but for some reason expect high draft picks in return.

Where, exactly did I say that any were crap and where, exactly, did I say that any one who hasn't performed well will get a high pick?

The only player I would keep besides the obvious like Kopitar, Frolov, Brown and Cammy.. I will keep Avery. People may dislike him but all teams need players like him, like it or not. Unless, we get a damm good return then let's deal.

On Vishnovsky... I am torn because I love the guy. He reminds me of M. Schneider.
Again, unless we get a good return I'd say let'ts keep him.

Pushkarev... let's give him a chance. Trade Blake which I doubt LA would for marketing purposes but if we do... let's keep Matty N.

That's it for me. Sell everyone else.

Oh, let's keep Labarbara. He deseves a chance. Look at what we did to Huet and it backfired on us.

I'm pretty sure he'll be the Kings' backup next season.

I would trade Cammy and Vis for the right price. JJ, Kopitar, Brown, Frolov can't be had for any price.

I wouldn't lose sleep over Norstrom getting traded if for the right price.

I waffle endlessly about Brown.

He had a terrible start to the season, which was just an extension of a poor season last year. All of the sudden, he pulls a complete turnaround at the 15 game mark, goes on a two week tear, and then disappears again.

That being said, it's good that he's finally inconsistent. He looked lost for so much of last year and the earlier part of this year that I completely supported moving him.

I'd still be open to moving him for the right price.

Frolov, Kopitar, and Johnson are the only "untouchables" in my book.

I would keep them too, because I'd keep all of the youth, but with Lombardi's comment in the breakfast about making another JJ type deal, the only people who could possibly bring that type of return are Lubo and Cammy.

Didn't DL also make a comment about Lubo being the kind of good player that you can never find...thus, making it better to retain him rather than trade him?

Stay
------
Kopitar
Brown
Cammalleri
Avery
Kostopoulos
Armstrong
Frolov
McCauley

Blake
Visnovsky

Labarbera

Tukonen
JMFJ
Petiot
----------

GO-

Norstrom - I'd hate to do it. But he can fetch us a great return on deadline.

Miller - for a pick or two
Sopel - read above
Tverdovsky - anything

Conroy - a prospect and/or pick.

Pushkarev - I like the kid. He has potential. I don't see him as a DL-type player. And Tukonen is better anyway.

kopitar frolov and visnovsky(i've learned the error of my ways in regards to trading him)-the only guys i think the kings should lock up.

cammalleri and brown and pushkarev-tough but i would move them for the right price...its hard to say what that would be because there are so many needs on the kings including offense imho

conroy, armstrong-its sad to say but i think armstrong could actually have more value then conroy, i've never liked army but you do need some fillers on the team and can't just play a team full of prospects. Conroy is a shell of a player and if he has any value left at all then deal him now..he is just not getting it done or proving his worth! you can take a chance on dealing army and keeping conroy in hopes that he regains his form next year and then trade him at next year's deadline..big risk though

miller, sopel, norstrom-try and stock the cupboards with them if possible-i don't expect much for any of them though-guess i could be wrong
blake isn't going anywhere

avery and kostopolous-avery needs less time on the pp but is a good pest(if he is a cancer then get rid of him for something at the deadline). TK is a quality guy but not irreplaceable..he's a nice role player

mccauley and thornton are just fillers as well..hopefully mccauley can regain his selke form and not just be a filler

willsie, tverdovsky, weaver, dallman, cloutier, murray, ivanis-by any means neccessary let them go away
