Bystrom and Lundberg the Sweden D cuts.

Hedberg the forward. One more to go.

Not surprised about Lundberg or Hedberg... but Bystrom?

I suppose they have a lot of similar players but the guy plays 20mins+ a game in the SHL for a midtable team. He did not look great in the warm up games but it is still surprising.

I thought two of Norrell, Pettersson or Lundberg would be the D men gone. (It seems the coach has a massive ***** for Norrell though after watching the 2 pre games, and even though I don't rate Djoos very highly he was a returner.)

Leier is LW on a line with Drouin today as C vs the Swiss. Laughton is playing LW, with Gauthier at C and Anderson at RW.

Is anyone else having problems viewing these videos with Chrome? My video stops after the first checkpoint. Works fine in IE. Anyone know what could be causing it?

I'm probably way out of it but I just realized the format change in the WJCs.

Why are they getting rid of the first round bye? What's the point in even playing the group play games?

Because Canada is going to sit and watch the entire thing anyways

Also, not sure if it was missed, but Valeri Vasiliev made the cut for the Russians. It was between him and another defenseman, and the other guy got cut

Laughton had a solid game and his line was able to provide any corrections in lost momentum to the Germans every time they stepped out on the ice. They had a few good scoring chances but didn't make the conversion. He looked good with and without the puck.

Leier was pretty quiet and his line was limited in 5 on 5 ice time. He didn't get a sniff of PP time and took a pair of high-sticking calls which ate up his icetime even more as a penalty killer. Wasnt very noticeable as a result.

Tough to gauge their contributions in non scoring role within such a tilted match.

Hagg looks average after the first against Finland and has taken two penalties one dumb while already shorthanded.

Leier and Laughton had a great PK together.

Leier later had a shot go off his stick and into Canada's net

Mcdavid is proving to be like Crosby in one way, being a punk ass little *****. You don't ever shoot on the oppositions net when play is over.

Not the smartest move by a Czech player:

I think coaching the Devils and Flames made Brent Sutter lose a lot of brain cells. Connor McDavid, as good as he is, was benched in the 3rd period. So, he was nice and unconfident and ice cold coming in as the closer in the shootout. Well done. Americans still get to play Germany and already beat the Czechs, so that's Wrap City for group play.

Nikita Zadorov looks really, really solid at the WJ's.

Given the fact he was available when the Flyers made their pick I hope Morin becomes what we want him to be.

I wanted him so bad after Risto went to Buffalo. Then Buffalo picked up Zad as well.

Hopefully all is well and Morin becomes a top pairing d-man.
