Giroux and Voracek playing at an elite level is always nice to see, we really deserved to win tonight, despite the bad start. Bryz has been very good to be fair, he played like he should've played with us.

We looked average tonight
Vinny was not very good
Giroux was on fire, Simmond and Voracek very good

I don't know but there was a great showing of Flyers fans there tonight, maybe even more than Oilers fans.

Don't forget Hartnell!

He does have 5 points in his last 5 games to give credit where it is due.

Now 15-22 all-time in road shootouts, not bad compared to the 11-24 home mark.

That was a great game and always feels good to come out on top of one of the most polarizing players to ever put on the Flyers jersey.

My god, is Edmonton the softest team in the league. Also, go back and watch how the teams celebrate their goals. Hall acted like he was the hottest thing on the earth when he potted one. Hopkins was quiet expect for his lone goal. Flyers play much more complete game and are a unit more than individuals than Edmonton.

Over the summer I said we should have tried to trade for Perron, he was by far their best player IMO and was all over the ice for them. It wasn't a secret the Blues were looking to move him, wish we would have jumped on the trade talk. He would look pretty next to Giroux.

Hope it was a good game, I was watching UFC 168 for most of it. OUCH!

I had a post written out after the Oilers 3rd goal on how the Flyers were going to screw this first game up of their road trip and to taunt those who hoped to see Bryzgalov in nets. Glad I took a few minutes to reflect.

Bryzgalov did come up huge in the game, and made a nice stop on Lecavalier in the SO, but that was a beauty move and incredible patience by Raffl.

Giroux's been playing great lately, but the guy needs to hit the net! He's missed the net in the slot way too many times recently. If he starts burying those, he'll be winning games single handedly.

People here love to hate on Brayden Schenn, but he was more noticeable than most of the Oilers' big name forwards and he had very little ice time. The only player on that team that stands out is Hall.

Honestly most of their chances either came off Flyers turnovers or them cherry picking specifically stupid alley-oop play that kept working for them.

I asked my wife for a Raffl jersey for Xmas, but she couldn't find one. I'll now be getting a Gagne jersey and replacing the nameplate.

The rough start can perhaps be attributed to the rust element, having just one practice since the 23rd while Edmonton played last night. It was cause for concern entering the game. The lopsided shot total was indicative of a team stabilizing but the victory is what ultimately matters. Onto Vancouver and Tortorella, a tougher dynamic awaits.
