Warrener

What is everyones honest opinion of Warrener? No homer opinions wanted, just an opinion based on talent.

I like Warrener, i think he's a solid defender who knows how to deliver the big hit. Not a overly skilled defensemen but he's a good defensive defensemen similar to former teammate Jay McKee.

My only complaint with Warrener is that he takes too many stupid penalties. Aside from that, I think he's a solid D-Man who can come up big when needed to. That's not to say he doesn't have off-nights, but for the most part he contributes fairly well, especially when playing with Regehr.

A Jay McKee, Willie Mitchell kinda player. A guy who's star shines in the playoffs, a guy who cant make a poor team good, but can make a good team better.

very solid defensively but not as good at getting the puck outta his own end as he should be

You are asking for no homer opinions on the Flames board? I'll try my best.

Generally solid defensively, can make a big hit, pretty good positionally but occasionally sloppy on the skates or penalty-wise, probably top four on most teams.

I think he has pretty much been summed up already, solid 4th/5th kinda guy (due to his injury risk I wouldn't call him a straightup top 4 guy) which fits well on Calgary where a guy like Ference can occasionally play like a top 4 guy.

4th best dman on the flames (behind dion, regehr, and hammer) and 2nd best defensive defenseman. every team needs dmen like him, and I am sure glad that we have him. Hopefully he won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Regehr & Hamrlik are both better defensively than Warrener
