Impressive game by Olofsson on paper - did anyone see the game? If so, how did he look?

I saw Olofsson play vs Finland. He was good. Kinda invisible - which is a good thing, I guess, for a defenseman.

No mistakes, defensively sound and IIRC got some PP time.

He was terrible against Team Switzerland and but was alright against Team Finland. Like Lapa said, he was invisible. Gotta see him against Team Russia/Canada/USA to actually see if he's sound defensively.

Quotes from today's Canada WJC GDT:

Quote:
Get off the ice Dumba. Absolutely terrible.

Dumba doesn't know how to defend period.

Dumba looks absolutely awful, like he has in every other game.

DUmba w/ another dumb play. I'm not a fan of this kid.

Put ****ing Dumba on the god damn bench and don't let him off. Horrible mistake after horrible mistake

Dumba.. Doing everything he can to make Canada lose. He's worse then Ryan Murphy. Bench him for god sakes.

Why is that Dumba can make whiff, after blown play, after disinterested do-nothing, and gets one shift after another, yet McDavid has a bad 40 minutes and is benched for an entire period + overtime?

It's time to sit Dumba down.

Dumba is all athleticism and no brain. They didn't take Nurse because they said he tried to do too much... Can't explain why they took dumba then.

Dumba fail lol.

Dumba living up to his nickname

I just don't get what Sutter sees in Dumba to keep throwing him over the boards. It's mind boggling and odds are he gets Reinhart as a partner next game as well which means even more ice time.

Dumba looks really shaky

Dumba with an awful play.

Dumba is so bad in his own zone it's laughable. How Minnesota didn't immediately send him back to juniors at the start of the year is mind blowing to me.

Seriously, Dumba has been horrible.

3-1. Thanks Dumba.

Can we get some wild fans in here to explain how Dumba does NHL?

Seriously how does Matt Dumba play in the NHL?? He is so inconsistent when handling the puck

Dumba with another turnover before the weak call, guaranteed he'll be back out instantly after he gets out of the box

****ing Dumba..........................

Lol Dumba... kid has been failing hard this game.

This is from the game on the 28th:

Quote:
Pouliot is the best d man canada has. Dumba is playing well too

Canadian management needs to realize that players that are successful in North America are not on international ice. They need players who can skate like Drouin, McDavid and Dumba.

whoa...Dumba definitely still sounds sick

Dumba sounds like a zombie LOL

Good play Dumba. Get him the heck off of the ice.

dumba is a bust

Dumb, Dumber and Dumba all over the place

Agreed that what Dumba did was stupid, but I don't think he was the only one who committed a penalty on that particular play. The idiocy in Dumba's actions was the retaliation.

Dumba...selfish selfish player. And lost in his own zone...his "star" status will be our downfall. How many chances will he continue to get?

One thing Dumba can do is take a good clapper

Dumba should be at the end of the bench running the door.

Dumba seems like a guy thats shoots the puck everytime its on his stick. Kind of like the equivalent of a chucker.

Good shift by Dumba. Too bad he didn't hit the net

Matt Dumba is the definition of risk and reward player.

Hard to know what to think of Dumba... he makes so many questionable plays and then all of a sudden does something brilliant, only to go back to boneheaded play.

Surprised Sutter didn't use Dumba in the shootout.

International hockey brings out the best in Dumba, looked totally gassed in his interview with TSN at the 1st intermission. He faded in the 3rd when his flu caught up with him.
Sounds like Dumba had the flu? Hopefully that's why he wasn't playing well.

The Canadian fans loved him in game one, turned on him in game two, and now hate him.

Hope so (the flu). But I it's obvious that Dumba is a high risk / high reward type of prospect.

All the physical tools are there. But that mystical hockey IQ, nobody knows about that yet. Hopefully he'll learn some day.

So what's your scouting report on his play at the WJC's? I'm not able to watch the games.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, they always have a whipping boy.

They did the same thing with Ryan Murphy last year, he's been just fine as a rookie with the Canes this year.

I just saw the first game and he looked really good. Apparently that was his best game though.

He's been fine. Has he made some mistakes? Sure, but all of Canada doesn't look very good. The moron with the "3-1 Thanks Dumba" quote must be blaming him for taking a "penalty" He was called for tripping, Slovakia dove, or tripped on the blueline. He touched his skate, the guy flopped. Like a lot of young defensemen, pressure him and he is more prone to a mistake. He hasn't been their best player, but he's being trashed when he shouldn't be. Like Jaykay said, it happens every year and especially with Canada fans. WAY too much stock is put into this tourney.

If that is the case, then the Swiss team must suck bad!

Bertschy was a wasted pick by the Wild for sure.

You can be sure if Dumba was a Leafs, Nucks, Habs, etc. prospect, we'd be hearing a different story.

I've been impressed with Joni Nikko, who's an undrafted player (was eligible in 2012). Has 2 goals in this tournament while playing solid game both defensively and offensively.

A big kid, 6'2''/188cm, 192 lbs/87kg according to eliteprospects. Has 8 goals and 7 assists in 27 games in FEL this season.

Wouldn't mind drafting him with a late pick.

Dumba has looked very strong in the USA Canada game..not much offensively but calm, good first pass and solid defensively.

Playing with Griffin Reinhart on what seems to be their top pair.

Announcers just praising Dumba. Rightfully so he just made some electric offensive moves, with a nice nifty spin move almost resulting in a goal for Canada.
