And if so i'd imagine it is because of the development of Gelians, and Merrill. That team is stacked on defense at all levels of the organization. Larsson could bring a big piece on offense where they have less depth. Makes sense.
I don't get why Toronto would do that, Kadri is the only center on that team worth a damn & their defense isn't that bad.
Their defense is pretty awful but a project like Larsson won't fix that. What they really need is someone like Hamhuis or Vlasic that can eat a lot of tough minutes while holding down the fort in their own end. Right now they are pretty much depending on Phaneuf in that role even though he is sometimes prone to mistakes in the d-zone just because they have nobody else besides maybe Gunnarsson who has been disappointing. Unfortunately for them Kadri isn't going to net a guy a that valuable, no matter how highly their fans seem to think of him.
