In a big surprise today, the NHL office found a crumpled up piece of paper from the fax machine in the trash can announcing that the New York Islanders wanted to pick up thestonedkoala before the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"Clearly this is the first time anything like this has happened, we thought it was another one of those Mike Milbury trades since the talks on Parrish and Hamrlik hasn't stopped and we thought he traded one of them for Kyle Rossiter," one of the spokesmen said today.
"So where the hell am I going?" thestonedkoala asked as he was shuffled from a plane leaving to Tampa to New York. "New York? I'm going to get killed...errr I'm just happy going to a place as wonderfully organized as the New York Islanders."
Noted that thestonedkoala couldn't keep a straight face as he shuffled toward his plane.
"I feel like Wade Brooksbank, hopefully the Islanders won't send me down again and I get picked up by the Wild again," thestonedkoala mumbled as he disappeared down the gateway.
"Again, this was clearly a roster move, nothing big is going on with this," theo6060 reported as he tried to bring up some guys like DWM from the AHL. "We'll miss the Koala but he'll be a great and added asset to the Islander organization. We wish him the best."
Thestonedkoala will be making his debut for the Islanders message board tomorrow as they face the Boston Bruins.
