We'll take Gomez for just straight $$$$$$ this offseason to play along side Gagne.

Number two on the list should be Kyle Calder. Since Christmas he stepped up his game and finally finds the net, six goals in the last twelve games. A second round pick, like Friesen, or a third and a sixth/seventh rounder, like Kvasha, should be possible.

The next one should be Denis Gauthier. On the one hand he has two more years at 2.1 million left on his contract, that lowers his value, on the other hand, at least we and the Sabres know how important defensive depth is. Last season we paid two second rounder and Gratton, we won't get that back, but a second rounder or a decent defensive prospect, someone like Grebeshkov, should be possible.

Than Robert Esche. With his cheap contract some teams in need of a decent backup and with small caproom, like the Canucks, could be interested. A third round Pick should be possible, as Noronen gave the Sabres a second last season.

Mike York could gather some interest as well. Some teams will remember what he has done the last seasons and take a chance on him, maybe we get a fourth rounder like Calgary last season for Wiemer.

Maybe some teams are interested in Cullen, Baumgartner or Dimitrakos, but none of them will give us more than a late round pick.

I wouldn't part with Zhitnik, I still think he is a decent 2nd/3rd defenseman on a reasonable price, Sanderson, he is still capable to put up 25 goals and 50 points for 1.5 million, Fedoruk, should be resigned as he loves to be here and is one of the top tough guys who can play the game, and Kapanen, we need some veteran leadership and Sami should wear the C if Forsberg leaves.

The other guys, Hatcher, Kane, Meloche, Reid and Printz don't have any value, so no demand, no trade.
don't agree with the Calder assessment at all. his value is going to come down this off season, and he has chemistry with calder which could spark a solid second line. if anything, the flyers need to address who is going to play the RW on the line, or if they're going to move carter over there and bring in a center or promote from within to fill the void. calder's elevated play is a reflection of his time spent with carter. if they had been playing together all year, the talk about getting rid of calder wouldn't be on these forums.

There would probably be more talk because he would be able to fetch a bigger return.

They can trade him and then sign him in the offseason, not that I think they should.

They need to decide what they are going to do with Umberger. Is he a RW? Is he a center? Is he a 2nd line player, a 3rd line player or a 4th line player??? If the keep bouncing him around like they have, he is never going to become anything. If they dont feel he fits, and that is why they are doing it then get something for him.

Another great job by Stevens!!!

I remember Forsberg saying he'd do what he could to help the team. I wouldn't be surprised if they asked him to waive his no trade clause if it would benefit the team.

it's not 100%, but wouldn't suprise me at all if it happened.
We have an injured starter, so we deal Esche, we are left with Leighton + Houle. There are 28 other teams, many with available goalies. If LA needs a goalie, they should look at a team with a surplus, not a team that already has one of the worst depths in the league.

Why would he want to come back here? If we trade him, thats it. He wants to win another cup and we are 11 points behind the second to last place team. If we even trade him, it will be because he waives his no trade clause to get the hell away from the Flyers.

I say since the management seems to be trying to run this team into the ground, I say we trade Forsberg for Dan Cloutier.

We need a playmaker for Gagne, not one in exchange for Gagne.

Sounds like they are still trying to trade Calder, but getting no takers and Umberger might be dangled at the deadline.
