Juniors/NCAA to Wolfpack

well with all of this talk about younger players these days, i was wondering which players do you see on the Wolfpack next year who are in juniors and NCAA this year.

and which players will be out of the organization, either leaving the pack, or we just flat out shouldn't think of signing?

Sign
Marc Staal - D - 6'4" - 204 - Sunbury (OHL)
Michael Sauer - D - 6'3" - 206 - Medicine Hat (WHL)
Darin Olver - C - 5'11" - 173 - Northern Michigan (CCHA)
Marc-Andre Cliche - RW - 6'1" - 190 - Lewiston (QMJHL)
Tom Pyatt - C - 5'11" - 182 - Saginaw (OHL)
Ryan Russel - C - 5'10" - 165 - Kootenay (WHL)
Brodie Dupont - C - 6'2'' - 206 - Calgary (WHL)

Don't Sing Out of Juniors/NCAA

Don't Re-Sign (WolfPack)

Not sure
Billy Ryan - C - 6'1" -175 - University of Maine (HE)
Eric Hunter - LW - 6'1" - 188 - Prince George (WHL)
Ken Roche - C - 5'11" - 194 - BU (HE)
Dylan Reese - D - 5'11" - 205 - Harvard (ECAC)

Off the top of my head:

Staal
Sauer
MA Cliche
Tommy Pyatt
Darin Oliver
Ryan Russel
Brodie Dupont
Billy Ryan (I don't know if the Rangers will sign him)

Maloney has spoken on his intention in bring Artem over next year...

The age restriction for the AHL was really set-up to prevent poaching from the CHL...

And I haven't heard any issues like military duty requirements or anything else preventing Anisimov from coming over.

Ryan has one year of college left after this year and I expect he'll finish. Hunter is borderline to me. Other than that though I suspect they'll sign Olver his numbers haven't improved since he was drafted and I'm not sure he's gotten any bigger. All the others to me are better prospects than him.

Marc Staal and Michael Sauer are already signed. The other players will sign ATO's for the rest of this season and their entry level contract kicks in next season

Kenny Roche and Dylan Reese are two other NCAA seniors besides Darin Olver who the Rangers could sign to an ATO and play in Hartford

The Rangers didn't want to give Eric Hunter a NHL contract which would have been a three year contract for Hunter. He has AHL/ECHL player written all over him

18-21 years old=three year ELC
22-23 years old=two year ELC
24 years old=1 year ELC

you hold a players draft rights for 2 years, it doesn't change for hunter because he was drafted when he was older. he was sent back to juniors because he was a late bloomer and they felt another year would be best for him. he'll be signed in the offseason.

Ehh, for an over-ager Eric Hunter really hasn't produced as much as hoped. He netted 72P last season, but only has 32P in 44GP this year.

I'd like to hold onto him, but if we're right up against the contract threshold, I wouldn't lose sleep over his departure.
