If this is infact true i'd be quite happy, about time they tried the Samsonov-Koivu-Kovalev line. The fact that 2 of our best offensive guys being Sammy and Kovy have been strugling for so long without a change of linemates boggles the mind, it's about time they got put with Koivu. You'd think this would be the last chance for them to start producing.
Edit- so they weren't in fact the real lines, I hope the new ones work but i really would like Carbs to eventually put those 2 on either side of Koivu.
I hope that he keeps the same line for at least 3 games to evaluate. Trying a line for just one shift aint going to cut it and Carbo did that a lot in recent games. I think it's tough for players to get back on track when they consistenly have different linemates.
I have no clue why he broke up the Higgins-Plekanec-Jonhson line but I like the fact that he's bringing back the Higgins-Koivu-Ryder line that was very good early on this season.
I love the new lines ! I really think that Samso and Bonk together is the ticket. Sammy will benefiaciate from Bonk sound positionnal play and his speed will spice up that 3rd line ; a shooter ala Ryder would be better to complete but Johnson might be fine too.
FINALLY, we'll get to see what Sammy can do away from the extinguisher that is Kovalev
