One of the reasons the Oilers are bad is goaltending. I wonder how bad the Sabres would be without Miller's goaltending.

Man, its amazing they're able to pull off a win with just have 1 great line and 3 lines of borderline AHLers and a backup goalie.

Oops, the Wild just blew a 3-0 lead to the Islanders...

Guess we're back in 29th.

Anyone see that stat on Saturday about how we never shut out CGY in CGY before? Seemed odd over the years we never were able to do that before.

I just caught the last 5 mins of the second of Chicago vs LA and wow they look like they play at twice the pace we could dream of playing at. It's a battle all over the Ice.

Martin Jones looks phenomenal for LA. This is a good game.

Can't even begin to fathom watching this level of hockey in Edmonton. The Oilers are so far away from this it's... It's sad

Also, 24/7 this year is completely unappealing to me. Two teams I could absolutely care less about with few interesting characters.

If there wasn't so much snow coming down this could be a decent game, but this is just turning into hot potato with the puck

I was hoping that the game would take 5 hours, the games are pathetic to watch and aren't a true gauge of the game. Want to play outside play the ASG out there, don't water the game down and risk the players health over some stupid gimmick game.

I'm not a big fan of the quality of hockey in the winter classic. However, it is a game that receives a lot of attention and draws record sized crowds. The NHL is a business and less than perfect hockey shouldn't be the primary reason for them to a hugely successful "gimmic"

Islanders win 3-2 in overtime over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bottom 3 now:

Calgary 34pts
Edmonton 31 pts
Buffalo 26 pts

I didn't really know where else to post this, but, did anybody else notice the Sportsnet graphic that they put up previous to the game last night comparing Yaks sophomore year to Huberdeau's?

They have basically the same amount of points (and Yak scored last night) after the same amount of games played this season. Why isn't there a witch hunt out for Huberdeau trying to run him out of Florida?

Stupid Canadian (and Edmonton) MSM need to **** off with the anti-Russian diatribe already.

I was going to mention that, but that's what happens when no one really gives a **** about your team.

I know it would never happen (but I know a few years ago Brent Saik had his outdoor game) the nhl and its teams if they weren't so greedy i don't know why they wouldn't make just an outdoor game in a more intimate setting (not in someone's backyard) but in terms of just using a smaller venue (i don't know if there is something out there) which would at least be exciting for people who don't want to freeze - the other alternative would be to have it earlier in the season.

The whole problem is they have it in the coldest part of the year, and most of the costs get driven up. Just my two cents.

The thing that gets me is why would you even go? You can't sit along the boards and I can only imagine what the view is like from some of the sections further back.

I love how the Sabres are doing an actual GM search.
