Caps fans feel the sting we felt in the Mc Donough trade.

Enigmatic kid for me to be honest.. One game you will see him moving his legs, always in good position to give his linemates an option and showcasing his skills, the other he is coasting on the ice not looking very interested..

De la rose really impressed me that game, he's exactly what the Habs need.

I want to say Koivu's 37 pts in 30 games had him in the top 10 before the injury in '96/97, which may be the closest thing in between.

Yup.

No 50 goal guy since Richer.

Last guy to be a legit top ten scorer for us (more than one season) was Guy Lafleur.

But does he play direct? Aside from some comments I hear he migh be injured, he seems to be a perimeter player.

Kovalev was #11 for points in 2007-08. Close, but no cigar.

It is true, but we have had some good offensive performers. Vincent Damphouse had a couple of season where he finished in the 15-20 range. He was a really strong player for us. The year we won the Cup, 92-93, Damphouse had 97 points and was 24th in scoring. Muller had 94 points and was 28th. Twenty-one players had more than 100 pts that season. It was a bit ridiculous.

Bobby Smith also finished in the top 15.

But, outside of Koivu's great start before suffering that knee injury, Habs haven't had a top 10 scorer since Naslund. He did it once, in 85-86 during our other Cup season.

It's a long drought.

If memory serves he was #2 right behind Lemieux at the time.
