seems like Chris Gratton rumors have been circling the wagons for a while. Is he in his 30s yet? Seems like he's been around a looong time, but I can remember all the high expectations of a bit 18 year old kid.
I can't believe he's going to be 32, he was the first player to make the NHL that was younger than me. Gratton is one day younger, really can't believe he and I will be 32 in July!

Time flew by except for every one of those 7 straight years w/o the playoffs. Those were loooooooong.....
I would say a big no to this since a Moore is still in the Rangers' system....Greg Moore plays for Hartford and that could cause some future issues.

Not only that, but Renney mishandles the youth. We don't want him up with Renney as the head coach. For all we know, he'll end up screwing up his development, and he'll be a complete bust.

Yeah, that's what he told me, I thought he was saying Gratton would cause that, and I pointed out that Gratton is a center, and even if Gratton did play wing, he'd probably be gone from NY by the time Moore came up with the big club.
Speaking of which, there's a player that I really hope will pan out for us. Greg Moore has the potential to be a Darren McCarty like player if you ask me, and that's something we've lacked for a long, long time.
I don't know if he's necessarily faster, I think Gratton throws better checks, and he's definitely much better on faceoffs.
I think for 3rd line center, you'd have to give the nod to Gratton. Even if he isn't the greatest defensive minded center, he still brings more of an all-around game to the table than Betts, who is pretty much strictly an energy player and a penalty killer who is decent at winning faceoffs. Even if the 3rd line is somewhat of a scoring line, I think Gratton can help put up some numbers on there, and that's what I think distinguishes Gratton from a guy like Betts.
And yes... if Gratton is the choice for 2nd line center, we are in a world of ****... well said.
I have an admittedly peculiar love for Blair Betts, but I have to disagree about the position on Gratton being a better 3rd line center. To me, Betts is an ideal third line C given his speed and defensive-mindedness.
And I don't think you can say that Gratton is definitely better on faceoffs. They're both good, but this year Betts has been better, 53% to 51%.
