Everyone loves him here, but he has very little scoring ability and hasn't been very good in awhile. Two glorious chances wasted tonight.

Still coming back from an injury doesn't equal decline. Just because he's not a ppg player anymore doesn't mean he's not worth his contract.

Even though the Flyers weren't very good in their own zone and Mason had to come up with some big saves I feel like Varlamov stole at least a point from the Flyers. Flyers had so many golden chances but Varlamov came up real big.

Great goalie play in this one tonight..........We had plenty of great chances tonight as did Colorado.......Varly stood on his head and deserved the win......No shame in losing this one in my view......Such is hockey.

Well the second line is stepping up lately & first line is taking a backseat with the other lines. Pretty typical of this team this year.

I think the flyers were hurt by the altitude. They just looked sluggish all night

Yeah I wouldn't be heartbroken if Downie walked at the end of the year. He's prone to awful turnovers, and he's coasting a lot of the time. He's not even close to as aggressive as he once was. This team has plenty of middle six wingers.

This is annoying as well. Its been one line carrying the team all year, while the other two look like passengers.

Over the course of his career he's definitely on a decline. He's not a two-way force and he hasn't been excelling in the dot this season so decreased scoring pretty much is a decline for him.

I also never mentioned the contract. That's a whole different discussion. The guy hasn't been fully healthy in a season since 09-10, he's 33, and he was once a PPG to 100 P player. He hasn't been close to PPG since 07-08.

He didn't get bought out by the Lightning for no reason. It's also worth noting that at least prior to this game he has a career high shooting percentage this season. So he's actually been lucky if anything as far as goal scoring goes especially considering how many seasons he's played.

Yup. Couts line was scoring, then G's, now the 2nd line.

Can't have two lines going at once, that would make too much sense. Honestly I think its because the lines aren't well balanced and some lines are well suited against some teams and poorly against others.

Bad game though, seemed like we only created chances on the PP and when we got desperate late in the 3rd. I think this team gets way too complacent once they string a few wins together, every win streak we have ends with a poor effort.

I don't think he's coasting. I think he's changed the type of player he is to be a slow the game down type of player. I think he's a great complimentary player, and showed that he can be playing with Couts and Read when he first got here. His injuries have really put a monkey-wrench in continuing that chemistry on that line.

I think the big thing to learn from this game is how much of an impact Read can have on Couts' game. He did not play a smart game.

Also, Vinny needs to play on a different line. If Raffl is out for a few with the concussion, I'd like to see what Vinny can do on the top line, as long as he buys into being a complimentary type player for Jake and G.

Some bad individual efforts from key players and a great night by Varly.

Couturier's worst game of the year.

One of Luke Schenn's better games of the year.

Oh well, played well enough to win, but ran into an even better goaltender.

Missing Raffl and Read at the same time hurts a lot. Raffl was really helping Giroux produce during his streak and he gives flexibility to the lineup while providing a good all-around game. Read is one of our best two-way forwards. Read should be back soon, but Raffl might be missed.

Well...RoboCop is on Encore, so tonight is extremely salvageable. This is a beautiful and elegant cinematic masterpiece.

Good goaltending today, but mason gave up a weak one and that was the difference

Yeah I know Gus being down makes it hard but gez at this point I'd be willing to try Gill out or one of the guys down on the farm. Mez has been brutal.

He started to struggle right around the time he was concussed, and nearly had his orbital collapsed. Clearly, though, the nearly 400 games played prior are an aberration.

Yeah and Berube still has him out there late in the 3rd. I'd like to see Gill or anyone other than Mez at this point.
