Hartnell skates like the ED-209 handles stairs.

Wasn't that his first or second game of the Flyers? I'm next to positive his best play here was after his facial injury.

Couturier has kind of gone in the tank ever since he's been saddled with Lecavalier on his wing. Here's hoping Berube puts that line back together with Downie when Read comes back.

Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
Hartnell - Lecavalier - Simmonds
Read - Couturier - Downie
Ugh

It was in that Washington blowout with the line brawl (which is how it happened) and the Emery jumping. That was in his first few games played after coming here (gonna guess his second).

They certainly had their chances. Not too disappointed in the loss.

Couturier struggled tonight.

Was Talbot as aggressive when he was a Flyer as he was tonight? Also, wake up, Grossmann; you can't be getting dropped by Max Talbot.

I still wish this team had some speed and some snipers.

I agree with some I wished for more of a scoring touch from Downie, but he's third in assists on the team and the only winger ahead of him is Jake. Seems he's not much of a goal scorer. He can get them at times but he brings something to the line up. I still don't regret swamping him for Talbot. Again Mez sucks (just gotta keep that train going).

Seemed like Colorado played pretty agressive. They seemed to always be breaking up a second chance opportunity with a timely stick. we seemed to just not get bounces, and varly was there in the few times when we did.

its not going to be there every night. Varly played well. so ill give him credit.
How many thought they would be 3-1 on the trip after 4 games. move on from tonight and get ready for Phoenix.

Implying that coaches are dumb and can't think of that...

Honestly, this should of been like a 3-2 game for the Flyers, but Varly really had other plans. He was great.

It doesn't help when you shoot right at the goalie.

We were not very sharp tonight

Simmonds was good

I was expecting 2 road losses at this point in the road trip so not that bad

You know Gus is injured, right? Who is going to replace Meszaros and play better than him?

That's what the lines should be next game, but they won't because Berube is an idiot. Then when Raffl gets back send Hartnell to the 4th line and put Raffl on the 2nd.

Couts failed to backcheck after his turnover on the first goal. Rare mistake for him, but that goal is all on him.

We need another fast forward and an upgrade on D to be competitive, but they are looking much better.

Varlamov looked ridiculous last night. I didn't think the Flyers looked bad but I didn't feel confident they'd equalize just because of how good Varlamov looked.

pretty much any Phantom. But I doubt it happens unless Mez is injured since we're on a road trip

I think people need to calm down. We ran into a hot goalie, we lost a game we didn't deserve to thanks to some shocking luck. We're 3-1 on a difficult long road trip, it's alright.

I was shocked and a little appalled when we lined up for the face off after the Avalanche second goal with Giroux, Voracek and...Rosehill

Doesn't help though when Raffl and Read are down. But yeah, Varly was awesome. Stole two goals from Downie alone.

Obviously, Giroux and Voracek need a winger. I would love to see this next game, assuming Raffl is still out but Read comes back.

B. Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
Hartnell - Lecavalier - Simmonds
Read - Couturier - Downie
Rinaldo - Hall - VandeVelde/Rosehill

When is Gus back? Meszaros is terribad and is not a good match to be paired with Luke Schenn. Gustafsson - Schenn is actually a pair with decent potential, too.

Goaltending is still a strength but d-zone play has suffered and Vinny on Couturier's line is an awful choice.

Now that Giroux and Voracek have 'cooled' they really need to come together as a team in the next two games and try to finish this road trip strong. 5-1 or 4-1-1 would be preferred, of course.
