Yep. Especially with Carolina and the Islanders climbing. Ottawa has been playing well. They will pass the Rangers tonight with their win.

Callahan, Brown, Patches and Oshie have the track record that Okposo doesn't.

I'd take him over JVR, though.

Clearly but track record isn't everything and there honestly aren't many players performing better this year. Okposo may or may not finally be hitting his stride but right now there are few players I'd rather have representing us.

Blues are just ridiculous. Just scored their 5th goal on the Kings, while giving up none.

They are a young team too. With the cap going up they can probably keep most of these guys together for awhile.

I've watched just about every one of their games this year. They beat teams every which way. Skill. Speed. Size. Strength. Fun to watch them play. Especially when they are at full strength. And they still have quite a few really good prospects

Anaheim demoralized Edmonton tonight. Edmonton is just a funny team to watch at this point, they're so pathetic it's actually comedy.

Anaheim on the other hand is for real, I thought they were all sizzle but I see them making the WCF this year.

The Ducks are a fun team to watch, good all over the place. Not sure where they are ranked, but I would think they are the class of the West unless a key player(s) suffer a longer term injury.

Edit: forgot Chicago, but both teams are so good and fun to watch

not sure about the Ducks ability to bring it in the playoffs yet. I'd take LA, CHI and possibly STL over them. Lots of young guys on that Ducks team, who, imo, will need one more year. They look set to compete for the next 5 or so years though.

Looking at the entire Rangers roster and they have one player that isn't a minus player. Kreider. Talk about bleak.

COL-SJ pretty good game. Avs got a 4-0 lead on a gift by Vlasic and a bouncing puck, SJ rallied, but fell just short, 4-3. I just can't see COL continue to win games like this, if I had to call it now, I'd say they're missing the playoffs. This SJ team I really like. Marleau's speed is just awesome considering his age, he blew past Duchene at one point. I like SJ broadcasting crew too btw, seem to have a lot of knowledge and tone the homerism down most of the times.

I couldn't disagree more

I follow the Avs and have tuned into 7-8 games this season to Sharks games using the Sharks broadcast (SJS vs. NJD, CAR, NYI etc.). I would say their opinion isn't slanted with homerism but certainly at times they can go on and on about certain players especially during the olympic roster debate period. I mean, they don't really have to be homers. Burns, Thornton, Marleau, Couture, Pavelski, Boyle, Vlasic, Braun, Niemi, their record, plus a Hertl to boot. No homerism needed to make an appealing broadcast from a San Jose perspective. They have a good production and broadcasting crew.

But I guess compared to Sam and Joe, who isn't a homer?

The Avs are winning games consistently in a lot of ways. Varlamov has been really good this season and he isn't the goalie from the Caps anymore. Besides, the Avs defense has a lot more structure than the Caps did during his time there. Their defense has been really solid for them, defensively and offensively and Roy coaches a great offensive game using the defense but in a responsible way at the same time. They have a coach that's getting the most out of all of his players, vets, youth, rookies, and goalies. They play a solid team game most nights too. It looks like Patty Roy is doing really well too.

Someone might want to tell pete deboer that the sabres are 9-12-2 at home because apperently he thinks the sabres are a very hard team to play at home
