Thrashers @ Rangers 1pm MSG

:thrashers @
(26-15-8) 60 pts (23-20-4) 50 pts
14-9-4 on the road 10-9-3 at home

this game is huge and can get ugly early. Exelby or Sutton will most likely be up against Jagr. Rangers must stay out of the box. I say 5-3 Rangers win. Goals by Jagr, Shanny, Prucha, Hollweg, Cullen.

I'm not a big fan of these day games. Nonetheless, this is a big game since they'll be off for a week. I expect a full 60 minutes of effort and hope for a win so there is something positive to take into the break.

Hate day games....especially a god damn 1:00 game. Can we please win before the long all-star break?

I'm curious to see what lines Renney will roll with all the tinkering he's done recently.

Who the hell is Krog? I heard he was picked up and loved by Coach Renney... but seriously... where'd he come from, and what did you lose to get him?

C'on man? Didn't you watch the Devils/Ducks finals? Krog played pretty well in the playoffs then.

We claimed him off waivers from ATL.

Lines in practice today and most likely will be the lines tomorrow:

Straka-Nylander-Jagr
Cullen-Krog-Shanahan
Hossa-Betts-Ortmeyer
Prucha-Hollweg-Ward

We lost nothing, he was a waiver-wire pickup from ATL. He's speedy, and has some skill, but is being asked to handle the second line center duties which I doubt he's capable of performing. In that regard, he fits very nicely on our team.

HockeyDB profile: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...3?pid=00027657

He did win the Hobey Baker.

He's really nothing special, he works hard but I doubt he'll provide a whole lot on this team.

Cullen, Krog, Shanny, Hossa, Betts, Ortmeyer, Prucha, and Hollweg are all playing out of postion..

Cullen should be the 3rd line center

Krog should be a depth guy 4th line center tops

Hossa is probably playing on the right line but is a RW..

Betts is a 4th line center

Prucha is a 2nd line LW

Hollweg is a 4th LW..

4 out of 8 forwards are currently being played in the right role with no end in sight...

Krog has always been very good on faceoffs. As a third or preferably 4th liner, he'd be serviceable. As a second line C, he's a joke.

I hope I'm wrong!

I'll be in the house for this one, section 428.

We need this win or else it's another week until we play again. Atlanta can be beaten but I have some fear about our defense against Hossa/Kovalchuk/Kozlov.

well they spanked us 9-1 a few years ago when they stunk, maybe they can beat us 14-2 with dodo bird malik on d. all the speedy forwards know to go towards malik's side.

Yeah I got tickets for next saturday and I'm taking a 9:14 AM NJ Transit train to get down there. I try hard never to wake up that early on a weekend unless I have a good reason, lol

I no longer like Renney and his Rangers.

Go ATL...

We're gonna get our arses handed to us in the worst way. 7-2

Another game in which I will be at work and forced to find some speakers and listen to the game between customers Oh well. They really need this game, they need to start playing desperate hockey because they are clinging to the 8th seed right now,and are a full 10 or 11 points behind the Devils. A win tonight over a really good team, on home ice of all places should really give them a boost and hopefully send them into the break with some confidence and new found desire to play the game. There is only 35 or so games left, 7 of which are against local teams which they have faired so-so against all season,so they need this game badly. I expect a hard, physical game with Exlby and Hollweg mixing it up, the big guns need to find the back of the net again as do the other lines. LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
