I don't know about his upside, but could Maenalean turn out to be a steal??
Maenalanen seems a Hornqvist type. Big bodied and gets to the net, also has a nice shot on him. I could see him maybe making some noise in the big leagues.

Forsberg obviously has elite potential.

That's a very good comparison for SM--I actually made it yesterday, via Twitter.

He IS playing with one of the best playmakers in the tournament in Teuvo Teravainen, but cashing in your chances counts for something as well.

He's not a dangle, high-skill kind of player...but he's got good hands, good size, and isn't afraid to play in heavy traffic,, from what I've seen.

I hope just because I want to know how the North American commentators pronounce his name

lol'd

Haven't spent as much time watching teams other than canada lately. Just too busy this year during the holidays. Have caught bits and pieces of USA/Sweden games. Forsberg's skating ability is quite evident.

Nashville needs scoring. Bitetto will provide some of that from the back. Valentine is a big hitter who doesn't take stupid penalties like Tootoo or a few current players on the Preds roster (and he can play the wing at the AHL level).

Nobody in Milwaukee is another Weber or Suter, at the moment. Maybe there is another Hamhuis in the bunch.

He was spectactular. Especially in the last 10min when the canadians were pressing for one last gasp.

What I've seen Saros in FEL (22 gp, 1.71, .930) and WJC, he's solid every game and IMO huge steal from you guys.. 4th round pick and Saros isn't really far away from NHL-level. And he's 18. Give him year or two and he'll be ready.

Haven't been able to watch Saros, but I plan on it tomorrow. When we picked him, general consensus was that it was a very good pick. Seems he's proving them right.

Didn't know where to put it on your board but Maenalanen (5th round in 2013) is looking quite good in the SWE-FIN Gold Medal Game. Big player who's showing some good offensive ability. I've seen him a couple of times in the SM-Liiga and he's looked decent there as well. Might have a bit of a steal here!

Saros looks really impressive thus far, the loan goal he has given up was a perfect slapper through traffic.

Saros player of the championship game and top goaltender of the tournament. Mäenalanen top goal scorer in the tournament. Forsberg is the tournament MVP and top forward.

I would say the future looks bright boys.

You guys should be really excited for Saros. IMO he's the most promising goaltender in the world right now. He is probably ready to play in the NHL in 2-3 years. He already dominates the Finnish Elite League the same way Antti Raanta did last year and look how well Raanta plays in the NHL now. And Saros is only 18 years old.

What a pick.

Only on paper. Everyone who watched the games, knows it was another player. Hint: the one who kept feeding Mäenalanen.

I don't know if it's posted yet but Saros' career highlights look incredible considering he is only 18

Colton Sissons was selected for the AHL ASG against a SEL team.

Sissons was also 1 of 3 rookies to make the AHL all star team, and the only player to make it that doesn't have any NHL experience.
