The one good thing is that his previous two teams are Chicago and LA who both have sound views on how to build a team. If they saw something in him, he might not be as useless as I suspect.

Both teams have given up on him as well though, so I'm not sure.

People are more pissed off about this than when we got Brashear. That was a million times worse. Relax.

Honestly, as much as I dislike Carcillo, my biggest concern when I saw this thread was that this may be a signal that they won't be selling/retooling and are going to patch their way into like the 13th overall pick and 6 x $6MM deals for Cally and Girardi.

This team is not a little bit of toughness away from being a contender. The roster needs an overhaul and, more specifically, they need to offload the Callahan/Girardi/Staal group of '11-'12 in favor of a new identity built around McD, Kreider, Miller and some of the kids.

Don't try to "save" this year - begin building towards '14-'15 and beyond.

And the same thing was said about Avery here when the Rangers traded for him. If Carcillo does anything positive to help this team people will be cheering for him. I just can't get worked up about a trade where it's a player for a conditional 7th. Sure he's a piece of **** but if he can help the team then great. Don't like what I'm reading from LA fans but we'll see how it plays out.

I can't stand Carcillo. This might be the first player we've acquired that I refuse to root for.

New strategy is to have the team rally around the Dirty Sanchez mustache alla Red Sox beards.

feel the same way.

going to force the Rangers to show their balls with his antics.

They needed an agitating player like this in the worst way.

soff team needs an idiot type of player.

good move.

Love it.

Yeah Brashear took out Betts in game 6 and that offseason we go and sign Brashear and let Betts go. Now THAT'S bad.

Hopefully he's as dirty a Ranger as he was when he was on the Flyers. I'm sick of seeing the Rangers get pushed around

That's my concern as well, that they will acquire useless/past their prime players in hopes of salvaging the season rather than unloading players that aren't part of the plan beyond this year. Then again, I am giving them too much credit for assuming there is a plan to begin with.

Be that as it may, and perhaps the guy on the ice isn't the guy off the ice, he just seems personally aggressive. While I'd love to see some energy in this team, considering NYR's newfound Zen-like demeanor, explicit leadership -- verbal and otherwise -- is, in my humble opinion, the remedy.

I hate the idea of goon players but people's absurdity here are making me defend Carcillo and I hate that as well.

I'm the last guy to whine about team toughness and all that nonsense but with Dorsett out we needed someone like Carcillo in there to replace.

Like I said, if we called up Haley instead everyone would LOVE it.

Not really. He didn't look like he wanted to fight Dan Carcillo at all.
