This is more like acquiring Chris Benoit.

I think the last couple of years have been a good example of how important on-ice and off-ice chemistry is towards success...and I don't understand why Sather and co. repeatedly refuse to acknowledge it.
No offense but get over it. We all saw what Avery did for our team. Do I think Carcillo has the same effect? No. However, if he can have even a fraction of the effect that Avery had, I make this move 10 out of 10.

Agreed, if Carcillo does the things we remember to other teams, half of this fanbase will love him in an instant.

So, heres to dirty antics and circus acts, I suppose.

A retarded monkey could have coached those Oilers teams to the Cup.

What does he have to show for as GM? yeah, that's WHAT I thought.

Gomez was a piece of **** who almost single-handedly erased the gains made by this organization in 2005-2007. Luckily, Bob Gainey had a stroke or something and made that trade.

So Gomez was signed with the idea that he would be awful and then traded for a guy who would become an excellent defenseman?

It can't hurt to have a new presence in the room for a conditional 7th round pick. It really can't. I'm not sure why people are ******** on this. The team (minus McDonagh, Zucc) gave in last night and now a hot headed idiot is acquired and everyone is fixating on the downside of it?

Rather lose looking like we give a damn at least.

Last night was the frailest game ever.

How's that working out for him?

How's that been going since Lockout #1, or #2 or #3?

How's that worked for him since the game changed twice in that amount of time?

How's it gone for him since he was hired by a team with a nearly unlimited budget and who said: "Anyone could build a Cup Champ with that budget!"

Jesus.

HOW ANYONE CAN DEFEND THIS POS IS SO BEYOND ME IT MAKES ME INSANE

So they should give the Pens more power plays?

Considering all outcomes/collateral damage is spitting on the Ranger tradition and honor

Carcillo has more Cups than the ENTIRE Rangers team COMBINED.

Carcillo > All Rangers

It can't hurt. I know fans would bring upset but honestly if the Rangers players can accept him so can I. I really don't care what happened in the past when he was a Flyer.

The Rangers need some grit, they need some edge and Carcillo should be able to be able to bring that to the team.

I'm not sure if equating a player to penalties is a fair estimation of his potential (albeit minor) impact. This is a pinch of salt move. When your food doesn't taste right and isn't grabbing your pallet, before all else, you add a pinch of salt. It's more to do with the absence of Dorsett than anything else. You guys are making it seem like this is Glen Sather's finest moment and grand plan to fix this team.

Fair enough, perhaps I'm overreacting. I just never thought I'd have to fine a way to root for Carcillo . But here's to him making a solid contribution to this team...we certainly need someone to provide a spark, and you're right - if he can do what Avery did when he first came here, then who can possibly complain?

When the food is rotten, rather than add salt, I tend to avoid it.

And I don't think it's Glen Sather's grand plan to fix this team. Because he doesn't have one. More blind dart throwing.

Have to agree with this. Few weeks ago people were ready to throw Beach into the lineup to add a little crazy. Now we get a guy who might have a little crazy left in him and everyone hates the move.
