option 1) add salt
option 2) disband franchise

At least Glen is throwing darts with conditional 7th round picks and not, say, conditional 6th round picks

Remember the Rangers standing up for Dale Rolfe? Cowardice is a Rangers tradition.

Summed up brilliantly. I prefer to look at the acquisition of McDonagh as the reward for putting up with seeing Gomez in a Ranger uniform. Maybe there's a similar reward awaiting the same approach to Carcillo?

Otherwise, I got nothin'.

Did anyone like Avery or Nilan before they became Rangers?

I understand that completely. Didn't mean to come off like a pompous ****, I just feel like sometimes one cannot win with these boards. People clamor for toughness to be acquired. Sather does it. They are upset though because it may not be the tough guy they wanted (such as Konopka who takes as many dumb penalties with 1/4th of the offensive output ((literally))).

This team was dead in the water under Renney. Then we acquire Avery and instantly this team is playing with more heart and intensity (mostly due to Avery's antics). We look worse right now than we did under Renney when Avery was acquired. We became tougher. There is no doubt about that. Will Carcillo give us the same spark? Time will tell. I sure as hell hope so.

Have to give it to Sather though, he never lets the conversation fester on what an overall crappy team he put together -- hes always pulling some sort of lever to get the fans talking about something else.

Haha I hate Carcillo, he's absolute trash. But really people are upset we traded a conditional 7th rounder for him?

Before my time on these boards but I would be willing to guess that the reaction was the same. A "we are better than this" or "holier than thou" type attitude to where we don't need this type of sludge player.

For those who don't like Carcillo because of his antics look at it this way, at least its not Matt Cooke

Have zero issue with this move.

Laughable how many people cry about a 7th round pick.

For every Lundqvist there are 1,000 Pontus Petterstroms.

Will have to reserve judgement....no knee jerk reaction.

Maybe he has a role to play. He certainly has the ability to fire up the team with his play, as long as he doesn't do something stupid.

If he hits and fights the Garden will love him. Same as it ever was.

Whether you like Carcillo or not, he's a damn good fighter who loves to drop the gloves. This should show some respect from other teams.

Last night I had to watch Crosby beating up McDonagh and Kreider at the same time, hope I'll never see something like that again.

Have not seen Carcillo play in a long time.
He cannot still be that CarWreck guy or whatever he was nicknamed with the Flyers, can he?
Don't know about this, so obviously cannot call it.

I'm not saying this was the greatest move they could have done, but this team desperately needed a spark, we'll just have to wait an see what happens

He doesn't need to be the best fighter, the team just someone needs to show they aren't a scared little *****.

He's McIlrath caliber when it comes to skills, so his stunt with the Rangers might be short lived. But then we'll once again be exposed when it comes to lack of toughness.
