There is such a huge margin between Carcillos Career .25 PPG and Cookes Career .38 PPG right? I mean thats like the difference between Stu Bickel and Crosby. For a conditional 7th rounder? Do you really think Cooke would have cost the same? People are complaining about Carcillos antics. I merely was making a comparison in which you completely strayed from the point being made.

At least the losses will be entertaining, and this team now has exactly 4 sets of balls: Callahan, Zucarello, Boyle, Carcillo. I've been a fan since he broke into the league, he fought Gaborik....whatever. Probably past his 'prime' if he even had one but as soft as this team is I am thrilled that Sather has at least addressed the lack of toughness.

Now call up Haley and you have yourself a 4th line that people won't **** with.

This message board makes me want to punch a wall...

We wanted someone with grit, someone that would stand-up for our guys and wouldn't take any ****. Well, we got that for a SEVENTH ROUND PICK. And people are complaining?

Wut.

Hey, how many SC champions do we have on the roster? Richards was the only one. Until today. What number will Dan wear?

His name didnt ring a bell, but after looking at a couple of videos on Youtube, (one where he beats up Gabby of all people)...well.. i dont know what to think of this to be honest. Adding size and toughness, im all for that, the team needs it. Adding a (potentially dirty) player that is prone to taking idiotic penalties.. that doesnt sit well however.

So i guess it'll all depend on how he looks in his first few games

Given the current state of this team and expiring contracts this summer I would expect an NHL gm to be able to make a trade.

This move tells me that sather is incompetent and barring some legit hockey trades this team and it's gutless coach are ****ed up beyond all repair.

A 50 percent increase in scoring is absolutely a significant margin, and that's without taking into account the fact that Cooke is a great penalty killer and no longer takes a ton of stupid penalties. Can Carcillo say that? No.

Youre going to get it.

This year's Martin Rucinsky and Bryan McCabe type players are on the way.

So we have one out of the three. The other two are a bit harder to come by.

Again, would Cooke have cost? Is that extra production worth going from a conditional 7th rounder to a 2nd rounder? We don't need help on the PK.

The point is that Carcillo has always been a negative net value hockey player. Any "grit" or "toughness"he brings is offset by his lousy skillset and penchant for taking dumb penalties. A bag of pucks would literally be too much to pay.

Cooke had that same problem with taking dumb penalties up until this year. What's to say Carcillo can't change?

Hate Carcillo. Don't see how this is any better than calling Asham up. At least AA has decent hands.

For me, its more about having this same conversation every single friggin season

"Well, cant be mad, we got this guy for nothin'"

One of these days, I wish we could reach into the minors and bring up these guys instead.

Rangers are just another team for Carcillo.

He will not inject any heart into this team.

Is he suddenly going to learn how to play hockey too?

His last three teams have just given up on him. That's a pretty good indicator of his value.

I don't think we'll have enough grit until we employ a gorilla to skate around the ice ripping off people's limbs.

I just came on to see this and......I'm laughing my ass off. I swear Sather must wake up some days and say:

"OOOOOOK today I'm really gonna mess with the fans....."

Love this move just for the fact that it will piss people the hell off and the grit we get is sauce for the goose.
