1) Acquire goon in winter
2) ???
3) Stanley Cup

This deal in a vacuum doesn't piss me off, frankly I don't give a ****; It's the fact that they have to trade draft picks for these type of players, rather than, uh...wait, I forgot...what..was it? Oh...DRAFT THEM.

Ohhhh God, no.

Not a fan. If he plays, this makes the Rangers a dumber team, a more reckless team, and less disciplined. Huge downgrade from Dorsett who can actually play the game.

Miller actually added some needed finesse on the bottom line who they finally get production from. So now let's break that up and insert a useless tool who'll get his ass kicked as a Ranger.

**** me

I really can't stand Carcillo.

I liked him when he first came into the league, but when the head flings and ****** level started to soar - just got tired of him.

Meh trade. They needed some toughness, Carcillo provides some of it at cheap enough cost.
I remember that fight and the smug on his face after the fight with Gabby. Oh well.
I thought the 7th rd pick belonged to the Sharks? I'd love to know what both conditions were.

Probably won't be, but the potential is there for this to be Avery 2.0. Better be more moves than this in the works though..

Added some toughness & hatefulness by other teams. Carcillo is a dirty player but right now we need to get some dirt on us.

Scratch Richards, play Miller with Callahan and Hagelin, put Carcillo with Moore and Boyle, profit?

...only half kidding.

The fact that so many of you posted how much you hate this guy just proves how effectively he does his job. It cost us nothing and he could add a spark, I'm ok with this trade.

Some kings fans actually said good things about carcillo. What I know is the lineup needs to stay the same next game and miller should play

Carcillo is a dirtbag...And the Rangers need a little of that. Gave up a 7th. Why would anyone complain about that.

Not sure what Haley did to not get a chance? Guy is exactly what the Rangers lacked. Give em a chance already!

Agreed, Miller energized that line last night, that line was flying and dangerous all night, I knew Dom Moore could still put up some points...the game is alot easier when the 4th line scores 3 goals..the 4th line scored about 3 goals the whole season last year

Carcillo is a dirtbag...perfect analogy. Can't hurt because we didn't give up much for him? I think a bag of pucks is worth more than this clown. He was suspended 3 times last season, is a punching bag that scrapes out an occasional win. Not what I call solving our need of toughness issue. Tired of the Avery comparison as well, people were saying the same about Beach. His one assist since his acquisition sure isn't Avery like. I myself would rather give a full pick for a legit tough guy who isn't going to end someone's career with a dirty hit & laughed at by the oppositions tough guys because he is a joke of a fighter.

Seems like quite a few Kings fans will miss him, but I just don't like this idea that draft picks are "basically nothing"...Lundqvist was a 7th round pick.

For those who don't like Carcillo because of his antics look at it this way, at least its not Matt Cooke
And at least its nit Billy Tibbets.

Whenever you can get rid of a useless contract you do it. Basically Sather just made the Kings org even better.

The last three drafts have produced some really good prospects being picked in the 6th and 7th round. Riley Barber, Vince Hinostroza, Christian Djoos, Henri Ikonen,Jeremy Gregoire, Zac Leslie, Kent Helgesen, Marek Mazanec, Anton Zlobin, Tomas Hyka, Ondrej Palat, Alexei Marchenko, etc.

Some of these guys are already playing in the NHL and looking good. Some are in the AHL, the others are tearing it up in jrs/Europe.

Who cares about depth right ?

Not to mention having a surplus of draft picks means you can not only take chances on later picks, but more prospects = higher chance of turning into NHLers.

Carcillo is UFA in July, are we really gonna resign him? Draft pick for half a season of this guy, in a most likely 'lost' season. Yeah, wise management. We all know tough 4th liners are easily the hardest NHL players to draft on your own.
