Le Bon, la Brute et le Truand, Habs version!

Inspired by the Sabres board, we need one here.

Good:

-The slump has ended
-Gui-Unit representing the crew
-Outshooting the Sabres
-Special teams are back
-Perezhogin with a nice play, displaying his skill
-Toronto getting mashed and mangled
-The third line, congrats Bonk on the new Bonk!

Bad:

-The Koivu line, Higgins and Koivu in particular, they've accostumed us to better play.
-Letting the Sabres back in the game
-The defensive breakdowns

Ugly:

-Brière
-The diving

Sorry guys, but you have to stop with the Gui-Unit because G-Unit is the most awful piece of **** rap ever, ever. Seriously. I feel bad for Guillaume.

So what? It's not about rap. G-unit is popular and so is Guillaume, why not associate the two? Makes for good humor, lighten up.

And I'll add to ugly: Cristobal Huet, he isnt living up to his all-star status. I know the goals were kinda fluky, but an excellent goaltender would of stopped a majority of those, not allowing Buffalo a chance to win the game.

Yeah.
I know there's an easy wording there that doesnt change the fact that it's a big huge amount of crap.

Sorry, what? It's humoristic, nothing else, everyone knows it's a horrible nickname, that's what makes it great. But feel bad for Guillaume though, I'm sure he'll cry tonight after he reads the Headquarters thread .

Meh, whatever, as long as you all know it's a horrible name, I'm content.

I like these threads read them on the Buf page all the time because Paetsch is from my hometown.

Good:
- The win, 2 in a row
- They look better than those 3 losses in a row when I think they forgot how to even pass
- 4th line, played well, drew penalties, winning goal
- Even noticed Samsonov skating a couple times

Bad:
- Koivu, Higgins invisibility cloak they have been wearing lately
- Dman turnovers still occurring

Ugly:
- Letting a tired Buf team off the mat
- Roy, good player, but I just want to crosscheck him myself
- Harry Neale's commentating. Really did he think Markov got hit with a stick off the bench??? He really needs to be put to pasture. At least splitting him and Bob means only one senile person commenting each game rather than 2.

CBC will lose the rights after next season and have only themselves to blame because of the last few years of HNIC seem to have been a vehicle for Bob and Harry to sail off happily into retirement.

I'm sure CBC has lots of young talent that could have sold the game so much better to new fans. Too bad.

I like these threads too.

Good:
-Slump's over, headed into the All-Star break with 2 big wins
-Going up 3-0 in the 2nd
-Perezhogin's pass to Ryder for the GWG
-Rivet and Bouillon, two defensemen I love to dump on, had great games
-Plekanec's tear continues with an assist tonight...here's to proving me wrong
-Hearing about Kovalev getting Komisarek with a pie in the face at practice

Bad:
-Sabres coming back to tie it up
-Souray's pass out into our own slot in the first period with Buffalo on the PP...what the hell was he thinking?
-Huet appearing to be in some discomfort after the first Sabres' goal

Ugly:
-Briere's ridiculous "I JUST WON OUR TEAM THE STANLEY CUP!!!!" arm pump when he scored the first goal - or any goal he scores for that matter.
-Calling a holding call on Ryder in the second when he was trying to get past the Sabres player holding HIM up to make it a 4-on-4 instead of a Habs powerplay
-Ignoring the blatant interference on Lapierre in the third...just before we scored the GWG
-Both commentators. Calling Martin Biron "Matthew Biron" twice? Neale saying "the Canadiens sure look more interested in this 2nd period than they did in the 1st" when it was actually the 3rd period? Calling the Bell Centre the Forum?
-The score in the Leafs/Pens game

I wish I had known it was playing on CBC. Man he sounds like he's losing it.

I hope the leafs don't come back Saturday fully charged after Maurice kicks their balls. We have trouble with them this year.

Haha..I was thinking the same thing...Briere too. That last game against the Thrashers I felt like punching Jon Sim in the face...god what a little pain around the net.

I saw parts of the PIT/TOR game so I was just curious who was commentating that game.
They were split, Neale did MON/BUF and Cole did TOR/PIT.

Good job bringing this to the Hab forum! I like post-game threads, rather than adding on to an already messy GDT.

I'll chime in:

The Good:

- Plekanec. He's really playing well this month. I know he's not as fast as Perezhogin, Higgins, et al., but his first few steps are so quick. He keeps the puck ahead of him and he's just dangerous in transition. Strangely he's been able to fly out there in transition a whole lot more now with Latendresse on his left than he was previously.

- Dandenault. Just playing very well now. He'll still be exposed at times down low and around the net, but his work ethic is great, he's using his speed to his advantage, and his play 4on4 is something else.

- Markov. That Koivu goal was all him. His intelligence and instincts are something else out there.

- Transition game ... finally, no more D to D, curl back, D to D, hang out behind the net for 5 seconds, then launch the puck off the boards and hope it hits a winger! The breakout was good tonight.

The Bad

- Letting the Sabres back into the game

- The possibility of Huet having gotten himself hurt on that awkward bouncing puck

- Ryder. I think he's got some underrated parts of his game, such as supporting the puck carrier. That's why he gets the puck so much--he's often in perfect position to receive a pass. But, his decisions with the puck are ugly. I think he's trying to keep his game simple: get the puck, go to the slot-area and launch a shot. But I'd try to keep it even simpler: get the puck, work the give and go to get into the high-slot; don't do it by yourself.

- I'm beginning to be concerned about Higgins' knee. He doesn't seem as quick. I can't remember the last time he beat a defenseman to the outside. I see him losing puck battles along the boards frequently. I've seen his knee seemingly weak on two puck battles in recent weeks. But this might just be part of the recovery.

The ugly:

- I have to say Harry Neale's colour commentating. It's just bad. It's really, really bad. I hate to beat a dead horse, but there's not a redeeming quality in his commentating. You'd think with someone like him having been around the game for decades upon decades that there'd be some words of wisdom on some rare occasion, but there's not. It's just bad.

I really love watching these Habs/Buffalo games. Always exciting, especially when we win

Im glad were out of that rediculous skid, and i hope koivu and higgins rest and come out screamin after the break. Also i hope Huet is not injured and goes to dallas. He deserves it.

Go Habs Go

Of course he dove. The puck was 8 feet infront of him and he was getting held up. I would have dove for the puck too. I don't know why they called it.
